You need to shower everyday/twice a day and you need to use deodorant after every shower not on special occasions.

This a country with hot climate and humid.

And change your underwear everyday and also brush your teeth after any meal.

Yes, please stay locked up in your bathroom and only come out when you're freshly showered.

Talking about showers (but ignore the very rude comments) do you shower in hot / very hot water?

I learned years back to start my shower with water which was barely tepid then in steps change to cold water.

I read somewhere that hot water starts skin 'reaction' which continues for some time and produces a lot of sweat, which is just what you don't need in very hot weather.

Also, I 'pat' myself dry rather than 'rub' my skin with a towel to dry off, which just generates more heat and more sweat.

There’s a difference between deodorants and anti-perspirants. Anti-perspirants contain Aluminium hydrochloride which causes your sweat glands to close up and therefore you can’t sweat anymore. Those are the bad ones because the Aluminium salt might cause cancer and since your body still produces sweat, but that sweat can’t get out, it can cause massive skin irritations, which is what happened to me after I used them for the first time. Needless to say, I never used an anti-transpirant/anti-perspirant ever again. Deodorants on the other hand allow for sweating, they just kill the bacteria and therefore hinder the production of the “aroma”! They’re completely harmless. I use a deodorant crystal instead of a roll-on because they last forever and they do the job! You can get them in every pharmacy and supermarket.

"East is East and West is West, the twain shall never meet"

This line from Kipling is usually used to highlight differences between the East and West. However, it is always taken out of context. The full first verse of The Ballad of East and West is:

Oh, East is East, and West is West, and never the twain shall meet,
Till Earth and Sky stand presently at God's great Judgment Seat;
But there is neither East nor West, Border, nor Breed, nor Birth,
When two strong men stand face to face, though they come from the ends of the earth!

So there you have it.

I would think people are revolted by unpleasant smells no matter what side of the world they come from.

If the OP is insensitive to his wife’s suffering his body stench and foul breath, he shouldn’t be surprised if he’s avoided and described as a dirty old man.

Maybe time to grow up and respect other people’s wishes?

"She will not even kiss me unless I have brushed my teeth." That says it all. If you are not bothered to take care of your oral hygeine and armpit odour before kissing and cuddling your wife(or for that matter, at any time), I really pity your wife. No wonder many Thai girls think that farangs shower only once a few days, whereas they shower few times everyday.

Maybe that's why they call them Dirty Farang.

Not All  are like that I suppose.

Mine tells me that I Smell nice and clean,Maybe She's a bit off a wild one and don't mind a bit of Sweet.

It's helps a lot if one eats the Same food . Tons of garlic ,Chillies ,Onions,Curry's,Smelly Tree leaves , stinky Beans  and what not .   ????

I have just shower before go to sleep so why to hell i have to shower after woke up! Im not anymore wet my bed in night time!

Maybe because people sweat when they sleep and it's nice to be fresh and awake. So in a way you do still wet your bed 555 only not the way you'r talking about .

It’s not your right to subject terrible body odor to someone or people around you. There are people who have a strong personal smell but it isn’t body odor as you are talking  about and so they have no harm no foul. If I was out in public and caught a whiff of your or anyone’s stench then I could guarantee you would hear something from me unless I knew you had just worked hard on something and it was just that, hard work.

Nobody likes a person who stinks. I remember once being in a taxi in Philadelphia and I literally had to stick my head out the window from the airport to the city, because of “Achmed” - the driver’s - horrible BO.

I’ve always had a hard time buying the excuse that some people have this natural problem of stinking under their arms, even when they claim to shower regularly.  I think many people just use this as an excuse to be lazy.

Regardless of the ‘dangers’ of using deodorant, I would absolutely do so if I thought there was any chance in hell that I stunk. I don’t want to be that person and neither should you!!

You should point out the advantages to her.

  • You ensure that social distancing is maintained around you so protecting from COVID
  • You help keep the flies away from the Shrimp Buffet
  • You are unlikely to be put in the back of a police car or kept in a police cell
  • There's little chance of you cheating on her
  • Taxi's will take the shortest route to their destination to end the journey quickly
  • Supermarket queues will just melt away in front of you
  • You will encourage the use of facemasks in your community
  • You will get a table by yourselves in a restaurant

And so many more.

It's so easy just to see the negative side of poor personal hygiene...

I love your avatar, almost died laughing.

I actually known 1 man before at my work who did had the most horrific smell . The guy did shower ( we shower at work ) , and could do whatever he want , but his smell was truly horrific . He even went to doctors and specialists for it , and they could not do much , something with his metabolism did create it . I did change workplace , so i did not see ( smell is more correct) him anymore after , which was good for me .

I can again notice benefits of not being married...????

I don't use chemicals under my arms, or anywhere else on my body, but I shower at least twice a day, or three-four times when it's hot, and also brush my teeth and flush with Listerine when I shower, seems to be enough for girlfriends, but I got no experience with a wife, might be different with such a being...????

And to avoid extra shopping there is that old invention called soap and water, OP should try it sometime, very often if he is a profuse sweater, works wonders.

In all fairness, soap and water alone are not the remedy as you might degrease your skin by overusing soap. Hence once a day with soap - preferably before going to bed, all other showers in the day with water only. And alum will keep the decomposing of bacteria on your skin (which create the beautiful odors as we know) under control.
