Thailand's business media has reported an analysis of the Thai economy by ttb Analytics. 

 

They are an economic analysis group who have predicted what the Thai economy will look like if certain vaccine targets are met. 

 

They assesses that if 150,000 people are vaccinated every day in what remains of this year then 100,000 foreign tourists will visit. 

 

This figure would rise to 5.5 million for next year.

 

But if 300K jabs are delivered each day the figure would be 400,000 tourists in 2021 and 10 million next year.

If half a million jabs could be done per day then 700,000 tourists would come this year and a whopping 13.8 million in 2022.

 

In a report in Bangkok Business News they also analysed the effect on Thai Gross Domestic Product assessing at the lowest end of the vaccination scale the economy would grow by 1.4% in 2021 and 2.8% next year.

 

But at the highest end they said GDP growth would be 2.2% this year and 4.4% in 2022. 

 

Thailand's vax rollout has been criticized for being slow so far.

 

The Thai government has been drip feeding various vaccines in the last few months but are putting their collective faith in large scale production of AstraZenerca by the locally based Siam BioScience company that is set to get going in earnest in June. 

 

Walk-in vaccination centers are set to supplement hospitals and registration protocols are being upgraded to include foreigners residing in Thailand. 

 

So far vaccinations have been measured in the tens of thousands daily but that is set to increase dramatically from next month if Thai government plans are realized, notes Thaivisa.

And there's when I stopped reading further. 

At least these figures are lower than from various other sources, though I'm not sure the number of tourists will ncrease in proportion with the number of jabs given in Thailand.

 

They never seem to take into account the conditions in the source countries and the ability and desire of tourists to travel in the current circumstances.

Not if: beaches and parks are closed at the whim of whoever fancies exercising authority, not if bars and restaurants are closed, or again likely to be closed at short notice, and not if there is the faintest whiff of quarantine in any shape or form, or the requirement to purchase "special insurance" or any other special provisions from selected companies!

Oh look, another tourist number prediction. I predict that it will be just as wrong as all the other predictions before.

Hahahaha from where? So vaccinated people can spend 14 days in quarantine before getting released into the third wave in Thailand, sounds awesome.

Rubbish report from bored reporters at the Bangkok Business news.

 

Firstly impossible to predict vaccination figures for even next month. Secondly they don't give a starting date for the 500,000. Starting from today or next year. Thirdly there are hundreds of other factors that will affect the numbers apart from just simple vaccines given in Thailand numbers.

 

An educated guess is being too generous for this report which is nothing more than a prediction.

A prediction usually have some basic data on which it is based.  This is not a prediction, merely a fantasy by those in dreamland.

Amazing how they put out and silly predictions just to show that all is not lost and the good times will be here again with the operative word "if" looming large...

And Lucky told me, she can't go lower than 3000Baht because she would lose face.

Once the word goes around that she lowered her price, she would never be able to increase It again .

They do like to give (false)  hope to the natives....& others, i remember a  member of this government saying, a couple of weeks ago  that  this recent wave of covid will be over in  2 weeks time

If all those politicians and study groups and hub centres would be hold accountable for their "fake" stories, they would need to build a few new prisons.

The drug problem is obviously quite worse than imagined.

A number of things may happen.  The world may wake up and realize that this "pandemic" is really more of a "panicdemic" and loosen up entry requirements or Thailand fails to meet its vaccine totals and remains shuttered.

Manna will pour from the heavens and everyone will buy a winning lotto if we all just think happy thoughts.
