The Chulabhorn Hospital offered a public apology today (Thursday) to people who have applied for vaccinations at the hospital, through the Chulabhorn Royal Academy channel, because it has to suspend the free service from June 14th as the academy no longer has an allocation of the two “essential” AstraZeneca and Sinovac vaccines from the Public Health Ministry.

In its Facebook post today, Chulabhorn Hospital also extended its apology to educational institutions and state agencies, which had asked for the two vaccines from the Chulabhorn Royal Academy and the hospital, and thanked all the officials and volunteers who have been helping in the facilitation of vaccination services.

The hospital said, however, that people who have already received the first dose of either vaccine are still eligible to receive the second jab on the appointed dates.

Reads like the 'pay for it' option is still available though

Possibly.  Or it could be a political backlash at Chulabhorn trying to go it alone importing vaccines directly.

Chulabhorn have said they had no supplies of AZ or Sinovac... no mention about imported vaccines.

No vaccines Mr Prayut... get out of office for dereliction of duty.

This is shameful and you should step down in embarrassment.

Hmmm....fake news charges for the hospitals and government?

This is the last paragraph of the link in the OP.

"One million doses of China-made Sinopharm vaccine, ordered by the Chulabhorn Royal Academy with its own funding, are expected to arrive in Thailand this month, but the vaccine is not free and no more than 1,000 baht will be charged per dose to anyone interested in receiving the vaccine."

Chulabhorn Royal Academy and Hospital are right next to each other I believe.

The Private Hospitals  possibly being removed from the vaccination program due to negotiations re' independent imports ?

These hospitals will/would not have been administering AZ or Sinovac for free on behalf of the Government so now will have  to eat their own cake only?

All the vaccine manufacturers have repeatedly stated they only deal with government agencies, so private hospitals like CM Ram have never been able to negotiate for their own procurement.

Government doesn't like being shown up by those who do a better job than they do...... which unfortunately is just about everybody.

Are expected.

There is always a lot expected in Thailand, unfortunately the expected rarely materializes.

Sounds like pay back to me for daring to go the sinopharm route.

do that and the government keeps its other vaccines. Or, taking its ball away and not letting others play with it.

not a good look on mass vaccination week though.

Step down? In any other country, he and the health minister would have been prosecuted.
