It gets worse! Thailand Intervac website taken offline after data leak

This serves as yet another clear warning that they simply cannot be trusted with sensitive information.

A name, passport number and DoB is all the information a malicious actor needs to gain access to bank accounts, get a duplicate sim card (to access 2fa) and a whole host of other goodies.

Criminal organisations pay good money for this kind of data, the incompetent buffoons in Thailand give it away for free.

Classic. We tried to bid for government projects, but quickly learned the futility of the exercise. They simply do not care about professional results.

I also noticed on the website that the only locations shown are for people in BKK or you must travel to BKK when you finally get registered, (maybe by next year). So if you live in the south, tough <deleted> for me. 55555

I think there was a link to a CM registry. Not that I will do it.

But you still have to show a passport to getinto the USA, don't you?

Internet security is pretty good these days. I don't mind if anyone gets my passport number and email/address.

Give me them then, my pm's are open.

Cheers.

This place has been leaking oil ever since it started taking itself seriously and trying to convince themselves they are a first world country.

Total ????-show with baditude. Inept, incapable and incorrigible. Pretenders and wannabes. Fools only fooling themselves.

Sad as it is to say I would have to agree with this post.

Thailand has nothing substantial except vanity malls and a couple of mass transit infrastructure projects (designed and built by foreigners).

Funny you should mention oil as loads of the oil and gas infrastructure in the Gulf of Thailand needs to be removed and nobody wants to pay to do it...

This will be the next multi-billion dollar boondoggle.

if I was in a panic to receive the vax, I'd get on a plane and go get it. Many of the folks scrambling (in their minds) about not getting 'on the list' would be walking unmasked petri dishes by their own actions if all the bars were open (as folks did in the west). The vaxes will be available when they're available and Mr. Barrow pointing out a wonky website won't put them in peoples arms any sooner (no matter if he is a legend in his own mind). Quit all the whining, it will change absolutely nothing except pollute the air. I still see lots of westerners maskless or wearing them below their nose so folks can't be that worried lol..

Another idiotic Post, worthy of your Much Coveted Guinness Book?

Totally amateurish and unprofessional garbage. Any schoolboy back home makes a better website. The makers should be ashamed of themselves, it is a slap in the face and an insult to all foreigners supporting Thailand. The whole thing is the reverse of a kcufretsulc.

Does anybody know if there is a way to completely delete your account?  Thanks.

And maybe someone needs to tell them that it's  Johnson & Johnson  Not 'Johnsons & Johnsons', as shown on their website...

As I said in my post very early this morning that a leak was reported last night so indeed the shambles goes from bad to worse. I just hope that those who actually registered initally will not be subject to any untoward actions by bad intentioned individuals now that the data regarding names and passport numbers etc appear to have been easily accessed. Unfortunately this government will deny its responsibility no doubt. Anybody who registered giving these details now needs to be very very wary.

Software always has teething problems, but there are always those banging the spoons on the table at 1pm when the meal was set for 2pm.

In this case the meal was set at 12 noon and we are still banging our empty spoons at 5 in the afternoon while chef Prayut and his kitchen staff dropped all the food in public view in front of the restaurant.

Prayut then turned off the light at the restaurant and as the sun is coming up we are still looking at our empty plates.

Many studies confirm masks do not prevent contracting covid, and that there are negative health concerns from wearing them. How idiotic is the requirement to wear a mask inside your own vehicle while driving with the windows closed??? ????????????

Can't stand stupid....

Hello ,

Does this surprise anyone !!?? Thailand only can make you make multiple paper copies , Report Government news 10 different ways from 10 different people and the story rarely matches the subject.

why are there so many obstacles with Covid and Covid Immunization ? Poor Government planning , Procurement , To much political red tape !!
vaccinations should be offered by The Government, Pharmacies, hospitals and military.

GET WITH THE PROGRAM THAILAND !!

Of course foreigners will think the meal was set to suit them, but what was the time on your invitation.

It may come as a surprise but they are not the government's number one priority with the vaccine rollout.

Data breaches are serious incidents and not just "teething problems."

Dear me.

Of course you are correct but to a government apologist, and they seem to be increasing quickly on here,  they are not, it is just another opportunity to come up with a ridiculous excuse to admit the obvious.

I once got woken up by a man claiming to be a Social Security agent saying that my social security number had been hacked, a credit card obtained in my name and used to rent a car that had been used in a criminal drug importation from Mexico. It was 4 AM and the call was from my roaming US number. He asked to verify my Social Security number. In a daze, I gave it to him.

Total hoax. The scam, as was rampant at the time, was to get me to pay money to 'fix' the crime but I said I hadn't been physically in the USA for almost 2 years. There were no repercussions ie card applications or new bank accounts even though they had my SS number which is much more valuable PII than a passport number.

So while the Thailandintervac data leak is not good, maybe some of you should calm down a bit.

You don't apply for a credit card or bank account here in Thailand with a SS card, you use a passport.  So it can be and is a big deal.  Think again.

Apologies if someone has already mentioned this but the http web address is the wrong one the official site begins https (S meaning secure). It appears the original poster was using the unsecure site.

Maybe they asked Anutin to create the site during his lunchbreak, it's on a similar level to anything else he does ????

It's just not bloody good enough, is it?  I am now "registered' in three different places and I have every reason to believe that effectively nobody knows! And even if they did know, I have no idea when I will get an appointment and then, if that appointment will stand and later if there are any vaccines for me.

We are into a year and a half of a pandemic and into more than 6,000 new infections in the last two days here in Thailand and still, as a foreigner, we are no further forward than six months ago.

My perfect scenario will be one in which I actually get my vaccine as promised! The minimum is knowing I will be getting one and some proper information about WHEN!

Mr Boss man, and your assistant, when are you going to get your act together?

This was published in the capitals newspaper.

Quite often teething problems, at least the serious ones, are discovered in beta testing, assuming that the project was started in time and had a proper time line to completion.

on the other hand, stuff thrown together at the last minute without much testing at all, often encounters issues when used in the real world.

Thailand has had 4 months to prepare its Covid vaccination program, so I am sure this falls in the first category. I mean, they did know there is a sizable group of foreigners in this country. They did know that they would need to register for a vaccination. So of course this registration web site has been in development since March.

So the vaccine website is now down, as is the 90 day Reporting website, as is the Reporting new arrivals to your house/resort.  Thailand the new hub of IT!

Indeed! Well said!

because in a non racist world a health emergency is met with a health plan, which might, just might, prioritize essential workers and those at risk.

Foreigners are as unimportant as Thai’s because we are all equal in the eyes of the virus and equally at risk.

any suggestion of nationality as a criteria for vaccination is ridiculous. So your post is irrelevant as was the one that you posted preceding it.
