Fella what is it you dont grasp here ??

I'm well aware you're trolling but individuals like yourself dont see the bigger picture. Stamp down on it hard and splash the result all over Thai and Foreign media because if they dont you're just giving ammunition for even more restrictive lockdowns

Of course you know that.....

Let’s recap the bidding:

I asked what happens to people caught by the police in such circumstances as the OP, and you stated that they were deported.

I asked whether that actually happened, or whether you wanted that to happen.

Then, rather than a straight answer, you accused me of trolling and went off on some rant.

I will have to assume you have no clue what happened to the people who were arrested.

I think it's you that doesn't see the bigger picture which is that the Thais are apparently doing everything they can now to attract tourists. Do you think stamping down hard and splashing it all over all the media would help achieve that goal?

What happens is they get fined 0-20k depending on various circumstances and then let go.

Majority in Banglamung (85 at least) are from construction camps which are now sealed off. Do you want severe punishment for them or think they don't care because they are doing their best to earn a meager living?

I am not talking about people that have to stay in construction camps. I am talking about people like you see on the pictures partying and drinking together. It was the same when the entertainment venues were allowed to be open but with Covid restrictions. Many simply did not care and so they are also responsible for the huge problems all others have to suffer now. There need to be harsch punishments for such such careless egoistic people. It does not make sense to make laws and regulations and then not to enforce them.

How many Thais and how many foreigners.. no mention about that

I think both the thread title and the OP mention 121 in total.

Perhaps TAT should use the picture and headline as part of its marketing program to entice more tourists to Thailand.  I am sure that creating the mindset in prospective tourists that they will be safe from being in bars or restaurants and having any alcohol will tip their decision about wanting to visit the Land of Smiles.

You intimated that these kinds of parties were the cause of the large number of cases found in Banglamung but almost all the cases have been traced to markets, construction camps, factories. I agree that the laws should be enforced and I'm glad the people in this article were arrested but harsh and severe punishments like you are advocating for against them would do nothing to help stop where it's actually spreading.

Once again... some impressive sanctimony on this thread.

In Bangkok a lot of the restaurants are serving booze.

I’ve been to a couple over the past few weeks.... Seating is socially distanced and we I’ve asked the owner if I can have a beer I’ve been surprised with a ‘yes’ but it has to be in a coffee mug !!!

I’ve been to a Pub to watch the football, it was not busy, again, beer in a mug.

I’ve been playing football. If I’m not mistaken, sports in open air are permitted (I’m not sure though), but the football pitches are open and they are very busy, groups of every culture, Thai’s, Japanese, Westerners all playing... We played then enjoyed a couple of cold beers at a street stall afterwards.

The Police in Bangkok seem to be fairly relaxed about all of this. No nightclubs are allowed to open, no busy bars etc... but people seem to be able to get on with their lives with some tolerance.

I wonder if actual Covid safety was on police minds? Did they test anyone for Covid ? Would it not be the first thing to do ? To decide to isolate them or to bring them to police station and police cells where they can infect others

If so, you won't read it in the news. Better make up something else.

Yep, not allowed to sit on the beach, not allowed to drink alcohol in a restaurant, not allowed to stay in the same room as your Thai GF/partner if you're not legally married. May as well go to Saudi for a holiday.

Yeah, way to go, ezzra, when the tourists are allowed in the restrictions will have been lifted, obviously.

Maybe there are just fewer snitches in Bangkok? Pattaya seems to have loads of people with grudges!

Testing for Covid would be pointless as they weren't arrested for potentially being carriers, they were arrested for breaking Covid-related regulations on gatherings and alcohol consumption.

They busted one of probably 100's of gatherings that happen every night. They are not controlling anything they're only putting people out of work

I will tolerate you if you grumpy but would very enjoy if you also nasty ????

It may not be right, but have to see from other people point of views, where young boys, living off their parents money enjoying life while older boys who worked hard all their life are struggling.

Its called human nature.

In fairness, bars should not be breaking the rules, but looking at the source of each outbreak it is not a bar, so opening up bars would not do more harm than keeping markets open which are the source of outbreaks

Your posts are becoming increasingly strange. I have no idea as to what the first sentence is supposed to mean. Is it an old people's thing?

Nope, it is just their nature. Some people are nasty and some people are not. Age is just an excuse as is your weird assumption that young boys are living off their parent's money.

That just seems to be a popular view of nasty jealous and bitter people. Birds of a feather and all that.

Crypto my friend. Whilst many faithfully did as they were told by their governments and have had many of their assets devalued by inflation and QE. The young 'uns saw the writing on the wall and invested in currency not controlled by governments.

All those nasty and bitter people who tried to intimate that it was only used by criminals etc are now crying into their beers, as their assets are now worthless.

So it's better to not be bitter. It only compounds itself.

It also doesn't make any sense, since furlough is mentioned. It implies these people have jobs. If they have jobs, why would they be living off their parent's money? Since their parents might also be old, how would they be any different to the old guy complaining? It's their money, so why should an old man be upset about other older people spending money on their children?

No...it's just the comments of a rather unpleasant person. No need for excuses.
