PM's office spokesman Anucha Buraphachaisri told Daily News yesterday that Thai PM Prayuth Chan-ocha had chaired a Digital Economy and Society meeting.

In the meeting the PM had pressed the National Telecom Public Company Ltd (NT) to work with local government and the private sector to make Thailand a wifi hub.

The PM - called Big Too by the media - wants to see more free wi-fi in places like educational establishments and offices for the benefit of his people.

He called on everybody to work together to increase capabilities.

He also put his weight behind a 7 year goal, to be completed in 2027, to build human resources in the AI or artificial intelligence sector.

Cool, another hub. ????

What, no free healthcare for illegals, free college for everyone.  How does Thailand ever expect to become a world leader like the USA without fulling embracing the everything is free agenda.

Who ever came up with certainly has a sense of humour... His people, when has he ever cared about the people here..... Answer never, also how could he have chaired a meeting? He is supposed to be self isolating.

This is actually a good idea. Knowledge intensive but low initial capital fields like software engineering, data science and machine learning are some of the fields that the government ought to be heavily promoting.

Waaaaay more realistic than booting up a pie in the sky space program.

Free WiFi everywhere, those paying are going to see a big

drop in the speeds, unless the Government increase bandwidth

and increase gateways out of Thailand.

"Thai PM gives the nod to country being free wi-fi and artificial intelligence hub"

Whenever I see yet another hub declaration this is more in line with what I'm thinking:

Thai PM gives the nod to country being free wi-fi and artificial  of intelligence hub

PS. I will hasten to add that this country has lots of smart people but sadly very few of them are in positions of power.

Does he even have any idea what artificial intelligence is let alone how it even works? 555

Well its good that he recognises or else has aspirations for Thailand to be an AI hub because certainly it is not a hub for HI ( human intelligence)

He should be dealing with more pressing issues!

Just a lame, inept attempt to take peoples' minds and conversations off the virus issue.

Another hub to add to the vaccine production hub.  Fabulous news!

But is it everywhere/everybody?

The report seems to indicate education institutions.
