In the USA, you're 11 times more likely to die if you're unvaccinated than if you're vaccinated?.So if you think being unvaccinated protects you from living better than being vaccinated, you've got a point. Otherwise, not so much.

"In a press conference on Oct 2, Health Minister Ong Ye Kung also said that unvaccinated people are 14 times more likely to need intensive care or die, compared with those who are vaccinated.

Around three in four who were reported to have died in October were individuals who received a single dose of a vaccine or were unvaccinated.

The unvaccinated accounted for 84 out of 169 of the reported deaths here this month as at Wednesday, and 30 more of the reported deaths had only a single dose of the vaccine."

Also, Singapore has one of the highest per capita COVID testing rates of any country in the world (it's in the top 10 among countries on per capita testing), whereas Thailand is near the bottom among countries based on testing.

Singapore is actually out actively seeking out COVID cases, unlike Thailand, which seems to be doing its best to avoid finding and having to report them.

I've read some on that topic lately... And one of the advantages that the current better vaccines have over post infection immunity is the vaccines are broadly effective against the various different strains of COVID....

Whereas, if someone who's unvaccinated has previously contracted COVID and recovered, whatever post infection immunity they have would only be for the particular variant they had before, and not all the various others... So say the medical experts.

As a newly minted member it’s a possibility that you may not be aware this exact claim with the exact same phrasing has been posted and debunked a number of times.

Give us the data for serious illness, hospitalizations and deaths (or wasn’t that included in the source you got this from?).

But. Ultimately this is a forum is it not? A place to explore different views and ideas.

In my short time here,  it seems a bit over biased.  Proof needs to be from msm links which are few and far between given the nature of who is funding msm. Social media is not allowed.

What's that quote about a guy getting his tounge ripped out, not because of his lies but because of what truth he might say.

There's a global bias towards the vaccine forvery good reasons. And plenty of professional articles to prove it. Most of them only get referenced in the MSM. Not produced by then .

Social media is not allowed for very good reasons. Misinformation!

Guess who's funding these sites? Right...Just bash MSM. Deny, deflect, attack.

The bit about ‘explore different views and ideas’.

Yes it’s a forum and if the views and ideas expressed are baseless, misinformation, conspiracy nonsense or otherwise off the wall nonsense they will

be ‘explored’.

If the views expressed are based on fact, science, verifiable and reputable sources then they too will be ‘explored’, and will stand up to the ‘exploration’.

Nobody is ripping anyone’s tongue out, and everyone has their own opinion, but you are right, this is a forum, and if you post s point of view it will very rightly be ‘explored’.

It's proven.  Unless you like conspiracy theories or fake news.  Just one of dozens of articles out there.  Proof.

https://www.newscientist.com/article/2294250-how-much-less-likely-are-you-to-spread-covid-19-if-youre-vaccinated/?utm_source=Sailthru&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=Weeds 10-29-21&utm_term=The Weeds

People who are fully vaccinated against covid-19 are far less likely to infect others, despite the arrival of the delta variant, several studies show. The findings refute the idea, which has become common in some circles, that vaccines no longer do much to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.

“They absolutely do reduce transmission,” says Christopher Byron Brooke at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. “Vaccinated people do transmit the virus in some cases, but the data are super crystal-clear that the risk of transmission for a vaccinated individual is much, much lower than for an unvaccinated individual.”

A recent study found that vaccinated people infected with the delta variant are 63 per cent less likely to infect people who are unvaccinated.

Nobody here is going to convince you of anything, your arguments are based on a one-sided view of the data, when the other side is presented you ignore it:

The facts are that the vaccination program in Singapore has, despite the Delta variant, dramatically reduced serious illness, hospitalisations and deaths.

Large numbers of infections accompanied by mild symptoms being detected by one of the most widespread testing regimes are demonstrating the positive impact of the vaccines. Positive impacts that are being revealed in data from around the world.

So away with you and your misrepresentation of what the data is actually revealing.

How about trying to post a link that isn't misinformation, a misrepresentation of facts, or better still something that you've actually read and understood before posting?

Most links that don't support the vax are based on misinformation and from social media or dodgy websites.  So sure, they'll get removed.

I am not vaxed yet, still waiting on the expatvac list.

The way things are going most will be booster treated before i get my 1st shot.

So when i finally get it,am i better or worse off having the other shots up my sleeve for the future.

Nope.

The vast majority of new cases are among the 6% unvaccinated. Those who are vaccinated but infected are mostly asymptomatic.

We have no idea what's going to happen with this virus.  To be safe, get the jabs.  For me, it's a huge relief knowing I'm fully vaccinated.

In year 2020 Singapore recorded 29 covid deaths and approximately 1.9% population were vaccinated. (according to Oxford World Data).

In 2021 they have recorded 335 covid deaths (>12 times 2020 rate) and 80% vaccination rate (>42 times 2020 vax rate).

So, the 2021 death rate increased 1100% over 2020 rates despite vaccination rates increasing 4000% over 2020 rates.

No spin, no bias, no one sided view, just data, hard cold data.

For comparison, Singapore recorded more deaths (500) due to urinary tract infection in 2019 (one year) and ~364 covid deaths deaths in 20 months! (FEB2020 to present).

Keep it in perspective.

If anything goes to show how people like you provide misleading information, your post is it. Despite the fact that a small percentage of Singapore's population remains unvaccinated the majority of death or from those who were unvaccinated or had been inoculated only once

Yeah.  They keep trying to spin things.  Not sure why they do this.

Ah, but, w/o vaccination only 29 deaths compared to >300 deaths with high vaccination rate.

Can you compare the variants of the virus that appeared in Singapore in 2020 and 2021. No spin, no bias, just compare them.

Then do the same with Thailand. Almost no one died from Covid in Thailand in 2020, but, despite some vaccinations, 10,000+ died in 2021. Any ideas why?
