Agree with you completely loneliness is a state of mind I am happy in company of others equally I am happy in my own company I have been here 3 years now 30 months of which I was with a partner but after living alone previously I am by my choice on my own again here in Thailand, and very happy to be so, I don't get lonely in my own company, things could certainly be better than the current situation, but its what it is at the moment, I ain't crying about it.

Popular Post bobandyson
I had relatives who returned back to England after living in Spain for several years and remember them saying. "It's one thing to go somewhere for a holiday but it's entirely different to go and live there." So I remembered that advice when I first went to my wife's village in Nakhon Phanom and I was in a "Wow!! I want to live here the rest of my life" phase. So I gave myself a year of living there before deciding whether to buy land and then build a house. After only 3-4 months of living there I realised it wasn't the life for me. Nor did I want to live in the heart of Bangkok when I found work there. I rented a townhouse in a muuban on the outskirts of BKK for over a year and realised I'd found what I was looking for. The village was surrounded (at the time) by green fields and was on the city's doorstep. A nice fusion of up-country and big city living. Since then I've known a handful of guys who've tried to settle down here only to end up pulling up stakes and returning to their homeland. Whether for them they decided to leave in a bout of jadedness or they've had personal problems back home, I'll never know. But for those who think about pulling up roots back home and coming here to live I'd advise them to do a trial run first. Try long holidays first, i.e. months at a time instead of a couple of weeks here or a couple of weeks there. And never burn any bridges if you can help it. They'll burn themselves over time. phetphet
Loneliness can be a killer for people that can't handle being by themselves. And being stuck in a small studio staring at four walls can't be great for his mood. Even in these strange times with no tourists and everything shut, there are things to do. Even for a barfly. But it's up to the individual to either get out there and do something about it, or seek help. Staring at the bottom of a glass is not the answer. There must be a lot of expats in the same boat, and not just in Pattaya. All looking for friendship or a bit of company. I have never been much for Pattaya either, but been there a couple of times. Especially, like you say, in the early days of travelling to Thailand. I do drink, so I am probably getting more out of a visit than you. However, if that is in a good or bad way can be left to consider and dwell about in the early morning. ???? Thing that you might consider visiting if you make your trip can be The Sanctuary of Truth, The Stone Park, Crocodile Farm and Jomtien Night Market. Anyway, for that to be a good experience things have to go back to normal first. Now it´s just better to stay put and enjoy the garden. ???? 1

But if I want to hang guitars or electronic parts or flowers or motorcycles on my walls it is entirely up to me. If my gf doesn't like it she may tell me that she doesn't like it. So what? Why do so many guys need to ask their girlfriends about these little things? If she doesn't like it then she should look for another sponsor. Thanks for a truly idiotic response. Your use of the word sponsor tells a lot about your demeanor and how you view relationships as transactional events. Grow up a bit you might find a real GF who you don't need to pay off. 3 1

I guess you are one of the smart guys who would never every pay for female company. You probably married a grown up women and have kids with her. And then one day when she walk away and wants at least half of everything then maybe you will realize that you paid a lot more than others. For sure no matter where you are in the world not having the need to get up to go to work, is great start to the day. Took me about a year to deprogram myself from the "rush" of life & the drive/guilt of not going to work....I didn't really miss anyone or anything about work - just the hardwired response that I HAD to get up and go....Work had never been a centerpiece of my life, but it still took a period of time to make the adjustment..... Fortunately, I got myself out & about taking on new challenges... Something a little more difficult to do taking in today's environment.... I never was a bar goer, so was never surrounded by, or beholden to that crowd.... Hopefully Mick can do something, even if mundane like power walking or bike riding away from people, just to see the outside, the sun, wind, sea.....Mild exercise at home = something to break up his routine of nothingness.... We have people we haven't, can't see + a university sweetheart of a daughter that wants to come home for holiday - wife says nope = no safety.... Don't know the who, what, wear of her interactions.... Unfortunately, we're stuck with the temperamental, flighty, bratty-ish daughter in house - unfortunately - I can't trade them.. Mick's going to have to make some positive changes & weather the storm.... 4

Popular Post 473geo
There is a very enjoyable past time - people watching - one of those things anybody can do, in the malls, on the beach, especially sitting alone with a beer in bars. Popular Post Tongjaw
Mick if he is real is probably a member of TV. I’m sure he will be more depressed that his friend?? in Australia has just posted and gloated about his situation in Thailand. OP, you hadn’t heard from your friend in a few months. You said he was miserable, depressed and you think he might commit suicide, yet, you callously ended the call early. As the saying goes who needs enemies with friend like you around. If this story and the name Mick is real I really hope he doesn’t read this post. If your real and you do read it Mick take no notice and stay strong mate. Reach out and if you need a chat drop me a private message. The first thing you should do is delete the OP from your contact list and block him mate. No one needs people like this in their lives.
