I've Been offered Sinovac Today

Featured Replies

I can get Sinovac today, followed by AstraZ.

If I take it, is it still safe to get the Moderna, which I've paid half, in October?

One more thing, can I travel to the UK if I've had this/these jabs?

Yes.

Since UK is not accepting mixed vaccines as being fully vaccinated, you would have to Quarantine.

If you need booster just for travel, do it several just several weeks before journey.

Boosters are talked now after 6 or 8 months, that for an average person, normal risk. For medics only on 2 sinovac, they did pfizer asap.

it will be changing all the time, nothing certain. That includes availability of moderna this year. Less than half (some 4mln from 9.3mln payed for) will be coming. And some of them might be only beginning of the next year

Correct.

The WHO has recommendations for the interval between the two doses of the same vaccine as follows:

Sinovac: 2–4 weeks

https://www.who.int/news-room/feature-stories/detail/the-sinovac-covid-19-vaccine-what-you-need-to-know#:~:text=What is the recommended dosage

AstraZenaca: 8–12 weeks

https://www.who.int/news-room/feature-stories/detail/the-oxford-astrazeneca-covid-19-vaccine-what-you-need-to-know#:~:text=What’s the recommended dosage

If two different vaccines are used, I have read that the interval between the two doses should be based on the recommendation for the vaccine used for the first dose.

I have seen no WHO recommendation for the interval between the full vaccination and a third dose, ie a booster shot. For safety reasons (severity of potential side effects), I would wait at least six months after the AstraZeneca vaccination.

That's almost a twin of another recent thread.

I got Sinovac end of July, tommorow AZ.

Before this was offered I had registered for Moderna.

I am not too optimistic that Moderna will happen in October.

Found this on the LINE timeline of THG (hospital group offering Moderna):

interval.jpg

They recommend to wait 3 months after a AZ shot  (as 2nd shot) before getting a Moderna booster.

After a single AZ wait 2 months.

After one or two China shots, wait 1 month.

And have two Moderna after a single China shot.

You could get the Sinovac now.  But if you find out fairly sure about getting Moderna hold off on the second shot of AZ.

Or try and find out if you can't get Pfizer, I mean Comirnaty ????, instead right now.

(Bah, having a hard time spelling the new name correctly)

We have been reassured by LINE that we will have Moderna in Oct from THG.

I don't think you can travel to the UK on a combination Jab.

Uk just added Thailand 2 its red list, so its now 14 days quarantine for returning people.

If your ok maybe wait for Moderna its the highest efficacy against delta at present rated around 80+ %.

Keep up your vitamin D, C and magnesium, thats what a few leading Dr/ Naturopaths are saying, may help .

The Aussies, just put up a post of a man trying to stop the tide coming in with a broom, thats like trying to stop Delta they said.

The plan is to vaccinate, my Mother in Law works in a market in Hua Hin she is ok at present  , she takes that herbal tea, along with vitamin D ,C and Magnesium, she also drinks lots of ginger tea, she's  78, fingers crossed.

Now yes, Uk placed Thailand on the red list. So good luck with that.

certainly safer than experimental mARN vaccine...

There offering Pfeizer to foreigners.

Why on earth would you choose Sinovac?

I'm sure they'll be Sinovac cheerleaders along soon.

It's weaker. I got it 1 hour ago.

Also, I'm not a foreigner.

My local hospital Bung Khla will give me an AZ on 30th through family friend.

They originally said Sinovac and I said no

As I still had no response despite confirmed registration on the expatvac site, i will go ahead with AZ

I can not understand your surprise at the word experimental used with a type of vaccine never seen before . Spouting and quoting a Reuters article does not make you more correct. Hold onto your hat dear sir.

Its not new.
