More Thai people have been travelling to the coastal town of Hua Hin, in Prachuap Khiri Khan province, since the partial easing of COVID-19 restrictions. The proposed reopening to foreign arrivals next month, however, should be postponed, said Vice President of Thai Hotels Association Udom Srimahachota.

The Centre for COVID-19 Situation Administration (CSSA) will soon decide on the proposed reopening of the resort, more popular among Thai tourists than foreigners, under the “Hua Hin Recharge” scheme.

With some lockdown measures eased in late August, hotels in Hua Hin, including those on Cha-am beach in Phetchaburi province, developed promotions to attract tourists and Mr. Udom expects their numbers to increase this week.

"Mr. Udom expects their numbers to increase this week."

This man is hoping to get Thai tourists who would have gone to Phuket but remember that they were locked out in favour of foreigners

The xenophobe Thais will remember.....

I am hoping that these announcements about increasing volumes of tourists are stated after they review total hotel booking numbers for the week or something with a little bit of scientific fact behind it. But.....maybe not

Odd photo to post if people are flocking there.

It's better than showing an empty beach and closed bars.

Every Friday Thais flock to Cha Amm and Hua Hin, to populate the beaches and Jam the traffic, during these times I avoid Cha Amm , it will take you over 1 Hr to get from the main Rd to the beach.

The beaches are usually packed until Sunday afternoon when they all flock back to BK, this phenomenon has been occurring for a few years now.

So we will probably see an increase of Delta at these locations, It will be-- Delta by the Sea.

However, we can not stay locked down forever, a new way of dealing with and treating this virus must emerge.

Australia is about to unlock as they are not controlling covid with lockdowns, nor it seems is mass vaccination controlling infection from Delta.

So what will be the new way???-- back to the drawing board, new treatment for those infected may emerge as the winner, something will.

Because dirty double-vaxxed farang will bring the virus in, but Somchai and his cousins are as pure as driven snow! ????????????

I think you might be on to something there.

It's inevitable that there will be a massive outbreak of COVID later this year and it looks like they're going to allow a bunch of tourists in so they can blame it on the tourists.

especially if they're happy to serve other than smoothies in their big cardboard cups

So I can get an extra kick splashed into that smoothie, nudge nudge, wink wink?

Been ages since I've kicked back on a beach in such a fashion. Ah...
