A delegation of public prosecutors visited the Thai masseuse allegedly raped by an American man as she started to recover in a Khon Kaen hospital yesterday.

The Region 4 chief prosecutor Parindech Siriphanich called the case one that was in the public interest and promised decisive action.

He and local prosecutor Maneewan Thammapra spoke to the victim - 45 year old Manasnan Klinsukhon - to inform her and relatives of their rights to compensation in the criminal and civil spheres.

Thirty seven year old Robert G. was arrested in the Nana area of Bangkok at the weekend after the attack last Monday at the Dee Na shop on Rop Muang Road in Khon Kaen, north eastern Thailand.

It is also alleged that the foreigner, whose bail was denied by the court, was also involved in a molestation incident with a minor at a honey stall.

He has been charged with assault occasioning serious harm, rape and illegal detention.

Parindech said that the victim was improving but still in ICU. She was able to respond to questions put to her by doctors, nurses and prosecutors in a 20 minute session.

He said that once police have handed details to prosecutors they would compile the case that would be prosecuted with vigor.

If found guilty the foreigner would face the full punishment that the law allows.

Unlike murder committed by well connected people. (Boss. Jo Ferrari etc)

  • He do not deserve any thing, just his luck that the woman not died after his rape and try to kill action.   Give him full punishment to thai law and forget him in a owercrowded thai prison.

  • Or until such time as he comes up with sufficient tea money.

Is there any evidence or proof of rape? Assault maybe yes, but...

if I am getting the picture correctly - beating someone to a pulp and then leaving them possibly for dead could be a borderline attempted murder or is at least the most serious assault charge possible in Thailand (I don't know what that is here), I hope this animal is prosecuted and put behind bars for a long time where he belongs, his life in Thailand is over

He has confessed to all allegations. (Earlier TV/AN report.)

No are not reading the news, but still comment! That´s really silly. If you followed the story it has been standing that he confessed. How is that for a proof?

If it was up to me, he should be hung up in his little pecker and hurt until he starves to death.

Weird to even empathize something like this. Why because in this case the arrested person is a farang or?

Maybe they were stating that he will not get any leniency just because he's a foreigner ?

Quite right.

Yet, lets not forget there is a difference in vigor when compared with the prosecution (or lack thereof) of Red Bull Heir. Also, this case comes as a big relief to the RTP who need to have the public spotlight caused by Joe Ferrari deflected and I bet they will milk this until the PR dries up.

Why? This is not the thing to do. it makes no sense to me he would do this. maybe he deserves to be prosecuted but...yep, need evidence.

how do you rape someone in a massage place. there are many people around. one bark and your busted. this should be easy to defend. if she was beside herself giving a massage in a place of of business that seems to be a little irresponsible.  i have been married for 30 years and i sure cannot keep my wife quiet for very long.

Prosecuted with vigor, were the killer cops prosecuted with vigor, just wondering

Indeed full force of the law, either pay an extortionately large amount or get locked up. Not that he should not, but sounds more to do with money than anything else

The emphasis in this article is very much 'foreigner' and will be "prosecuted with vigour" accordingly.

There is nothing in the law that determines intensity of prosecution by nationality. To me, these alleged offences are identical whoever committed them. But I am sorry to say that if the offender is Thai, it doesn't make the news.

Rape of a woman, or even a man, is a horrendous thing, probably second only to their murder.

"Justice", in the form of locking the perpetrator up for a number of years, is an abstract concept and doesn't begin to right the wrong of a rape.

It would seem only fair that a victim be adequately compensated, financially, for the actual physical, emotional and psychological abuse that they have suffered.

Money, of course, won't ever make the hurt or trauma go away, but, in some sense, it will ease the suffering.

Should Mr Gordon be found guilty, I believe he should be bled,  for an eye-watering sum of money. Enough to cause him financial pain!

In the "Vorayuth Yoovidhya / Red Bull Case", Suwes Hom-ubon, 45, who looks after the Yoovidhya Family's vehicles, had claimed soon after the incident that *he* was the driver of the Ferrari.

--  I'm afraid that you confusing "a confession" with "proof".

Unless he has enough money ??? Remember in Thailand justice can be bought!!

And if Mr. Gordon does not have an eye-watering sum of money, what do you propose as an alternative?

Worked for another certain person.

That has never ever happened here so-far so that thought doesn’t makes sense.

I'm very sure that it takes money and influence to sway the justice system here and I'm quite sure that Mr. Gordon will be found lacking in the latter.

I should hope/ imagine that was the first think the hospital checked for, any sign of sexual abuse. Plus it didn't really state in the  first article what state her clothing was in, torn? ripped off ext.

If he confessed to the allegations, there's no need to reprimand all the popcorn-munching speculators. He obviously sealed his fate, however defamatory the speculations or otherwise. To his credit, he is man enough to face the doors of Bang Kwang and enjoy the Michelin-starred cuisine within those walls.

I wonder what 'full force of law' for attempted rape means? How many years in prison?
