Thai social media was having a 5555 field day after the Facebook page of Mattress City - a leading bedding and mattress company - advertised for a sleeper.

You'll get 35,000 baht a month if successful.

The company said the more you sleep the more you'll earn.

It was for those with "a passion for sleeping".

That may include quite a large number of Thais, notes ASEAN NOW.

The company went further saying the successful applicant would get hotel stays in Bangkok and up country and full benefits and it was no joke, reported Sanook.

In fact they said "don't miss out if lethargy is your strong point".

Onliner Benz Apache posted billboards with the comment "55555 - this job is perfect for me".

The number five is "ha" in Thai and used for laughs.

Health insurance plans that meet the long stay visa requirements

Can a narcoleptic apply for the position....asking for my GF's mother who just drops off to sleep while in the middle of talking.....

Rather than 5555, perhaps ZZZZ might be more applicable?

Are they allowed to hold a mobile phone while sleeping.

i have a few hundred candidates in mind.

I suspect they're looking for young and attractive women aka 'pretties'.

I know numerous Thais that would qualify for that...:whistling:

This shouldn't be a problem.

The scientific research outfit looking for a Thai insomniac haven't found one yet after looking for over 35 years.

that rather would be "up to 35k per month" for those staying in bed all the time.

From that they would deduct time spend outside bed.

This company has already of mass and social media exposure from this simple job advert

You would think that they could use any of their existing staff, or pull any random passer by to do the job. Its finding ones that can stay awake that is the real challenge.

I wish both my G/F and her mother would do that.

Perhaps a Kipper or is that out of plaice and just a chubby red herring?

I'd count that as a blessing.

My MOL can continue talking in her sleep.

Would need a lot more than a few peanuts per month to take on that job.

Just keep her in the club all night, no need for a hotel

Wonder if they will broadcast this on the internet so as people can watch the sleeper.

Full visual & audio.
