Bars and pubs in Hua Hin and other entertainment venues may be able to reopen on Dec 16, under a new proposal being drafted by the Ministry of Public Health.

The proposal, which would need to be approved by the Centre for COVID-19 Situation Administration (CCSA), would see night time entertainment be allowed to reopen in the 17 ‘Blue Zone’ areas, which includes Hua Hin and Nong Khae in Prachuap Khiri Khan province.

Under the proposals, anyone entering an entertainment venue would need to show proof vaccination or a negative test result from an antigen test.

Good news for the 70 international revelers... of have they gone home?

Soi Bint-A-Baht is aptly named.

And pigs may start flying the same day.

17 blue zones? Last I heard there were 4. When did this change? Does anybody have a link to the new list?

Meanwhile in another story today the CCSA confirmed that all entertainment venues will remain closed until 16/1/22.

There are now 7 'Blue' zones, with Kanchanaburi, Nonthaburi and Pathum Thani joining Bangkok, Krabi, Phuket and Phang Nga from 1st December.

Why show a picture of Bintabaht, a large section of it it is scheduled for redevelopment. Also, many bars, and the girls, have already moved to the new Bintabaht currently known as Soi 94.

Well hope so there are four of us travelling there for Christmas and New Year

Would be nice to have a cold beer with our meal  will visit the night Market

Enjoy the fresh seafood there ????

If not open will get from the 7/11

So, why are they talking about Hua Hin but not Pattaya?

How much of a "gift" would they need to give their stamp of approval?

Pattaya bar and restaurant owners have been petitioning local authorities for weeks without any real feedback AFAIK.

Should Covid prevention be the focus at a place like Bintabaht ?

I think testing for STD's would give more positives than C.19.

With these possible rules, people entering are safe from Covid, but after a bar fine more likely to catch something else ????

Or am I being too cynical ?

1. There is absolutely no hope of even a minor revival of tourism until they open all nightlife.

2. They are milking the shutdown for all it is worth. It appears they want to eliminate most nightlife.

3. They simply do not have the courage to fully reopen anytime soon. They are timid and scared and hiding in the corner of the room, hoping a Zombie does not claim them.

why do we read that bars WILL NOT OPEN TILL POSSIBLY Jan 16 2022..... now we have iit here pubs and bars could open december 16 2021......

What is going on ????

Tourist arrivals are way less than were forecast. TAT might have some feedback from travel companies that tourists will not come unless alcohol is freely available. Hoteliers; some big players amongst them; are exerting pressure on the Government. It will happen in blue zones, IMO.

I've mentioned on this forum before about the landlady of the wife's bar on Bintabaat coming & giving her the new 'rental rate' for when the bars open again... The new 'rate' had taken a big increase since the last contract was in play!

Now I am unable to speak about what other bar-owners are doing down this Soi? OR if they too have been given the same kinda news we got from the owners..?

BUT.. Maybe the hike in rentals is a alternate way of finishing off the bars down here, and (as mentioned earlier) the Soi is indeed maybe marked for developement..?

(ps.. When she told me about the hike in our rent I told her to gut the place & walk away!).

Tourists will not come, first and foremost, because it’s a pita to get in!

I was in Kanchanaburi this week and the bars are open, some bars were really busy but mostly

locals of course.

The crab sticks in 7/11 are a gastronomic delight.
