Sanook reported on a post from a well known consumer page on Facebook.

A fish was found by one customer swimming in a sealed drinking water container.

The consumer apparently got a replacement.

Admin on the page made much of the water being "natural"!

They asked what their readers would do in this case!

Thai netizens had a field day with comments.

Hundreds liked one that referred to a famous inscription in ancient Sukhothai known to all Thais that speaks of a time of plenty:

"Nai nam mee plaa, nai naa mee khao" - There are fish in the water and there is rice in the fields".

They added that both fish and consumer survived!

Another pointed out that it was just as well that the tank was transparent, unlike the old days.

As is common in defamation fearing Thailand, no one mentioned the name of the water company.

Aetna Platinum+ Light on premium, great on coverage

These laws really need to change , they affect the public,

you can be sued for telling the true , and offenders hide

behind the law.

Open the top, so that it does not run out of oxygen.  Buy a couple more, widen the top, and hey presto you have a cheap aquarium to entertain yourself and thrill friends.

Pour it in a bowl and buy some fish food.  ????

I'd be more worried about the things in some of the "drinking" water that you can't see.

Run down and buy a lottery ticket.

Yes, and "wanda" how it got there, esp as the water producers say the water passes through several filtration systems!!

What you should do, if it happened to you? That´s easy. Sell the bottle as an aquarium for 200 baht. Then buy 2 new bottles of drinking water. It´s win!

Unsure why this is so upsetting.  It's general knowledge that the drinking water we purchase is sourced at the local duck pond.  :coffee1:

That's why I take my daily water quota in the form of boiled water (coffee) or cold-snacks (beer). Can't remember when I last drank H2O.

Must be in a different area of Thailand than me, we only get deer and birds in our water.

Time to buy and install a water filter in your house. Saves plastic and the routine of having to buy bottles with water of an unknown  source. Buy the way...having a fish in your water prevents mosquitoes to have their larvae in it.

Tell the locals it is a spirit fish that grants wishes to those that rub the bottle @ 100 baht a pop.

Ask the company if they would like to buy the bottle of water back inclusive of the lodger, just to keep the news out of the press & social media.

Could be better than the lottery.
