What garbage, try sticking to facts enough misinformation around as it is.

FACTS are facts.

Do you dispute everyone that gets on a plane must have a negative test? FACT

Do you dispute the facts that even with a negative test and everyone on the airplane has a negative test, people arrive positive? FACT

Those are the facts.

One of the the things that attracted me to Thailand  was the good service,  honestly  and lack of ripp offs

Many, many Thais would disagree with this perception. They know that their institutions & services are completely bent. They're amused when naïve foreigners do not take measures to protect themselves or expect 'good service,  honesty  and lack of rip offs'

A UK woman's trip to Thailand turned into a holiday nightmare after she returned a positive coronavirus test and was immediately whisked away to hotel quarantine.

TikTok user Megan Meeke and her partner Dyl Murray arrived in Bangkok the day before New Year's Eve, doing a PCR test on arrival.

"[We] were told our PCR on arrival were inconclusive then positive but no one speaks English," she said in the TikTok.

"We were in an ambulance [and] now have to quarantine for 10 days... what is happening?"

Does this woman have a Cigna health insurance, as the last paragraph in the news article seems to suggest?

I think you have hit the nail on the head here.

The authorities publish all the rules about being tested and so on, but there is nothing about being quarantined in hotels and having to foot the bill. Likewise, if they are admitted to hospital after testing positive, but showing no symptoms, or because they sat next to a positive case on the plane, the insurance companies are not likely to pay out.

This should be stated clearer on the various websites.

It won't be long before many of these cases hit the social media and news media and people will be cancelling their trips to Thailand.

Happening as we speak I should imagine. The Thai Gov's. ability to shoot their foot off never ceases to amaze me...

Any genuine tourist going for an actual holiday in Thailand right now (or the reat of this year, at least) is a glutton for punishment.  How much more self destructive can you get?  Loading a gun and playing Russian roulette alone?  Glad it made it to social media and national news. DO NOT COME TO THAILAND UNLESS YOU REALLY NEED TO!

Stop blaming tourists . My advice to travellers : steer clear of Thailand , do NOT come unless you need to be here . E.g. my wife who will somehow has to make it back . She will be carrying a test kit , as this whole quarantine thing is starting to look like a government/hospital/hotel scam .

Is your wife Thai? If so.  it will cost her nothing. Also if people purchase the correct insurance it covers asymptomatic stays.  so where is the scam?

Right, the France are pushing them to the UK as they are p1$$ed about the after Brexit fishing rights.

Two minutes reading Aseannow forum on Thailand can save you from a horrible decision to go to Thailand as a tourists during pandemic.

Where does that accent, those glottal stops, place her?

I have no idea about accents around different parts of the U.K., but wow... I checked out a couple of videos via the link you gave (one of your links has had that video removed). The only word that came to mind was - vacuous. How on earth does anyone feel that by watching those videos, they gain anything other than amazement of the level of useless empty nonsense.

Those are the facts.

Your words

"Can you explain how everyone gets on an aircraft with a negative test and then hours later landing in Thailand test positive?"

You obviously do not understand the fact that in people the virus can change from undetectable to detectable at any point in time.

Your words

"And the miraculous thing is after spending 50,000 baht the quarantine hotel actually cures your positive test?"

You obviously do not understand the fact that prices are not fixed at 50,000 baht, or the fact that hotels do not do any tests, they are carried out by the hospital that the hotel is partnered with.

It is a fact that my 15 night booking at a quarantine hotel in Pattaya cost me £836.

It is a fact that the PCR tests carried out during quarantine were certified by the Vibharam Laemchabang Hospital.

I'm sorry, regardless of whether this woman makes a TikTock living out outta this stuff it's stupid.

Who in their corn fed mind gets on a long haul flight to any tin pot third world country without knowing the risks that rules will change on a dime, and you risk either deportation or your two week vacation holed up somewhere in quarantine.

No sympathy sorry to say

I thought she had to have insurance?  A poster said theirs covers possibility of quarantine. That's the kind I want and that covers an asymptomatic positive case. Is there such a policy?

This sort of specious "argument" only holds water if you forget that the thai regime has specifically concocted "schemes" to "lure" customers to the country, while downplaying the real situation. Sure that's fine for a TAT TV ad, maybe, but not for the entire apparatus.

Very little mention is made about the "rules", "laws", "procedures" and potential "punishments".

Blaming the victim is, well, not a good look. Seems to be the go-to response for some of the AN "mob".

But carry on.

FACT

Everyone who contracts a virus will initially test negative for that virus.  They will continue to test negative as the virus grows until it becomes detectable - at which point they will test positive.

If she's in Bangkok I'm sure there's someone who speaks English especially in a hospital. They must get English speakers all the time. I often speak to English speaking doctors in Mahasarakham

That's exactly why France is pushing them to the UK.

they are not pushing them, they simply don't stop them moving out from France, free movement ????

The simple solution is not to travel to Thailand, if the trip is non-essential.
