I sometimes park my car on public land, does this mean that everyone has the right to use my car?

  • Just because something is on public land does not mean it's available for anyone to use.  Best to stay away.

Geez, it's quite unbelievable how some people think hey? I mean, if I'm walking along a road like this and see a bench press located so close to such a shack, there's no f*&kin way I'm gonna touch it. Especially since it is so obviously homemade? Someone has taken the trouble to make it, it's a labour of love no matter how <deleted>ty it looks and he just doesn't want some sweaty farang using it. I can understand it.

The OP appears to have an over-inflated sense of entitlement! The fact is, it's not his, so leave it the f*&k alone!

It is getting a bit worrying to read every day,  ' .............guy has mental health issues '.

The owner of the bench press or the one wanting to use it without permission?????

Weren't tempted to go for a spin on his moped?  Thank goodness his wife wasn't with him.

It’s a homemade wooden flat exercise bench.  I’m surprised it doesn’t hurt the back lol.  It’s actually a piece of junk.

The message he is sending is keep off the bench.
If the guy has mental health issues and thinks it’s his. Let him have it.  At least he’s just exercising.  He’s not out robbing, stealing, or hurting anyone.  At least that people know of.

If one found a bicycle parked on public land, would one presume that it's there for anyone to use? The answer is clearly no

Does that apply to the village bike?

What's her name?????

Have to agree, looks like the  guy made it himself and that its owned by someone not public use.

Anyway if you like bench-pressing just get a bench press they are not expensive though the weight plates could be.

Foreigner found dead on bench press with gunshot wound to the head

Imagine moving to a third world country to then mess with locals on far away dirt roads over a benchpress one could buy for 5k (or 12k for an entire workout machine).

You could have bought a set acryl dumbells too and leave them with the bench press, then he might like you.

They say certain similar people attract each other though 5555

his bench press

The key is in you title! Why are you touching it? If something happens and you're injured he doesn't want the liability. 'Public' land or not, keep your hands to yourself.

Such a lovely piece of equipment. Why would you even want to touch it?

This has to be a wind-up, how would you even think going close to that contraption, filthy and dangerous, homemade  rubbish.

Foreigner found dead on bench press with septicemia.

The OP is being asked to leave the guy and his equipment alone. Why would the OP feel he is entitled to share the equipment, to which he has contributed nothing nor been invited to use?

Does the OP really need help understanding the situation?

ignore the well intentioned advice of locals. and do let us know how you get on. but please dont complain if things turn out badly for you.

Pissing off Thai guys is a no no and you want to mess with one who has mental issues?

Don't you read "aseannow?"

I think the OP spent a whole lot of time and effort to write his novel's first chapter, plus uploading pics and more pics -- and he gets no sympathy whatsoever.   Wonder if anything much has dawned on him.

Is it April Fools day already, for heavens sake man get a life

Please look at the photos and let me know what message the guy is telling me. For me 'the message is loud and clear'.....

He wants you to work on your lower pecs so he set up a decline bench for you.  Nice guy!

I greeted him in thai. He didn't answer just looked at me. I repeated myself 3 times.

Are you quite sure that the one with mental health issues is the other guy?

One cannot feel sorry for a person that just asks for trouble for no good reason.

If you feel you have to use that rickety old homemade press, maybe you need to evaluate your life?

I bet you didn't wipe down the machine after using it!  He is upset! There is covid going around.

Meddling with the meager possessions of a peasant, male Thai nutter?

Just remember, all you are is a 500 Baht fine.
