I always thought you would want your S.W.A.T. team in some kind of incongruous van or car, not with great big S.W.A.T written on the side of it

What a stupid waste of money - 4 x 4 Ford pickup would do everything they need

Went through their check point yesterday, and look impressive.

It is sending a message to the people, we are here and we watching you! Everyone who travelled spain in the 7O’ies and early 80’ies, remember Guardia civil right? They where Feared and they where protected, and could do pretty much what they wanted.

Will these be used by immigration like the BMW thing to close in on unsuspecting overstayers, who cause no trouble in rural Thailand?

SWAT officers don’t use guns or batons - apparently will subdue criminals with shock absorbers.

Greater ability to fracture hips of protestors without damaging the paintwork

They could have done with them the other week in Rawai, they had to ride on the back of pickup trucks

Go get them bad guys known as MP's ????

Not to be confused with the Black Tigers, within the Special Services Division.

The Crime Suppression Division (CSD) of the Royal Thai Police has set up a new SWAT (Special Weapons and Tactics) unit to replace its predecessor, the police commando unit, which was moved under the Ratchawallop Royal Guards Command.

The new SWAT unit, officially named the Hanuman unit, after the monkey god Hanuman, the faithful knight and servant of god Rama in the Indian epic Ramayana, is currently staffed by 40 officers under the command of Pol Col Wichak Darom, superintendent of the support unit of the CSD.

Just more expensive and useless toys for the boys. The only thing these things will ever be used for, is to oppress unarmed youth, who are protesting a toxic regime, that is moving the nation backwards, and rejecting the concept of progress, as if their lives depended upon it.
