National – The Thai government has planned to revive tourism initially by attracting about one million tourists from the Middle East to travel to Thailand by the end of 2022, the deputy government spokesperson revealed today, February 27th.

Traisulee Traisornkul, the Deputy Spokesperson for the Prime Minister’s Office, revealed that the government had the policy to restore the domestic economy while practically controlling the spread of the Covid-19 Coronavirus and preventing people from infections.

On February 24th, Tourism and Sports Minister Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn had witnessed the signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Cooperation (MOC) between the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) and the Emirates Airline in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, to organize traveling activities to attract international tourists around the world who are regular customers of the Emirates Airline to travel to Thailand as well as to promote the tourism campaign “Visit Thailand Year 2022: Amazing New Chapters”, which is a tourism-reviving campaign in line with the Thai Prime Minister’s policy.

Or, better still, maybe negotiate with the Saudis to allow the Thai "Mecca" to be an acceptable alternative to the exhausting real thing.  Marching around a rock in temps of 50C takes it out of one.

My daily laughter medicine. I can always rely on you to exercise my obliques. Unless they remove the idiotic restrictions even the Saudis won't be coming in that number.

It would be amazing if the Thai media would actually challenge and call out those, who make these ridiculous claims, and question where they come up with the figures. I have a feeling it is done like this.

Planning is good, but planning should be supported with good conditions and easy travelling rules and regulations to entice would be tourists to come to Thailand and not go elsewhere while at the same time safe guarding the country from the Covid, it can be done if the right people with the right thinking will oversees the program...

I worked in Saudi back in the mid 80s, lovely place...???? Anyhow, the flight out was always a hoot, we were obviously gagging for a sherbet after our 15 week hitch and BA never disappointed on that score, but I digress.

The best entertainment was, once in International airspace, seeing some of the Saudi ladies in their traditional and most becoming, black garb, head for the 'heads' and return in slightly less traditional, and typically rather more exclusive, western outfits complete with bling, quite a transformation...

...oh and often, smoking hot these girls, just sayin'...

1 million planned from the middle East, thousands planned from Saudi Arabia.

OK, I understand the idea........

But, ......... what exactly, is the plan?

Hard to imagine a worst mix of cultural differences.

I don't know why they would presume this...The Middle Easy does not solely contain Saudi Arabia. Saudis made it here previously by simply going via Bahrain or Kuwait.

One is rampant the other isn't... guess which one is which.

only one guess required.

More than likely what will happen is more illegal immigration. In Kuala Lumpur, from 2015 to 2020 the "Arab" quarter now looks like a mini Lebanon/Syria with scores of those citizens who became refugees after conflict/economic downturns there. The food is great but Thailand certainly isn't ready for that.

The plan?

Charge them each 300 baht, split the proceeds amongst themselves, and go shopping at the BMW store.

TAT says

If a million Indians, a million Arabs spend a million baht, Thailands bank account go brrrrrrrrr

I no longer waste my time reading articles headed "Thailand plans to attract (insert whichever country it is this week).

Sorry, but what kind of journalism is this?

And if the plan fails to attract the one million, how many government people will be sacked or demoted for incompetent prediction?

There appear to be no consequences whatsoever for tourist number predictions which are woefully over optimistic, which is why they keep coming.

Honestly, I have no earthly idea what they would find interesting in Thailand.  The culture is so foreign, so open, sex masseurs all over the place, it's just weird to me.  But what do I know?

TAT don't need to revive the Arab to visit Thailand.

1. Arab men want girls ( or ladyboys ) for a short time. They will send their wives and children on a long trip shopping  for them to bring a girl for a quicky in their room.

or best make a trip to the massage parlor for a happy 1.5hr. Girls don't mind Arab  customers as long as they bathe

2. a lot of booze.. they love to drink.  Arab don't care for the bar scene

If TAT should not think  Arab wants :

1. to visit Temples or pray at the Mosque.-- No way

2. noodle soup with pork balls, - can't eat that

3 Non Halal food.  may be sea food. But they will stick to their own diet.

4. girls with masks - seen it all the time in Saudi- boring to see them again in Thailand

5, Beaches...- They got beaches too. And they never go swimming.

The ARABs want things they can't get at home...SEX and BOOZE

Good luck TAT
