Brace yourselves, Thailand is set to officially enter its hot season this week, with this year’s ‘summer’ set to be a scorcher.

The Meteorological Department (TMD) has said that summer in Thailand is likely to begin on Tuesday March 1, provided certain weather conditions are met.

Typically, Thailand officially enters its summer season when the winds that blow through the northeast of the country are replaced by warmer southwestern winds.

Thai Meteorological Department deputy director-general Thanasit Iamananchai said that his department will make a formal announcement to mark the start of summer.

Go commando, but close the curtains first.

I thought it is hot season already for several weeks... When was the cold season??

I shall be very happy when it warms up a bit, I am still wearing a light jacket at night and sleeping with a blanket and this is Kanchanaburi. Anything under 35c is cool for me.

Ask the people in the Northern area. Here in the Mae Hon Son Province, near to the Myanmar boderline, since nearly 3 months: every early morning between 11° - 16°. Unusual long and cold time.

Why would you have a workout without AC.. that is pure torture ????

Whenever i do a workout i turn on the aircon first. Does not prevent me from sweating like a PIG. But its nice to get in the pool after a cardio workout.

Started today here in Issan because the typical heavy and round painted concrete table in my place was  hot to the touch at 2 00 pm . Air con needed in the early hours but morning it is a chilly 15 c .

Did a bicycle ride up Huay Yai then around Lake Mabprachan this morning. NOTICEABLY warmer. I'll be leaving an hour earlier from here on in.

<deleted> why exercise when it's too hot?  In fact, why exercise over 65, you're going to die anyway.

Over here in rural Kamphaeng Phet my a/c goes on for a couple of hours for my siesta set to 29C. The compressor runs in the afternoon but at night only the fan is working.

The cold season is only over when Snowball and Cookie the chihuahuas refuse to wear their fleece pullovers in the morning.

As of today it was definitely still the cold season, they didn't wriggle out of them until after midday.

The hot season means the end of another tourist season and what a season it was!  Hundreds of millions of people pouring into the hub, everyone employed.  Great year TAT!!

Oh wait, what year is this?
