As i get to the last part of my life  i was looking back and wondered if others had had such a good time as i have had ,i dont mean were you very rich and lived a very comfortable life ,but was it exciting.

I was born just after the war ,luckily my family were not very short of money although by no means wealthy , i went to a private school for many years and then to a grammar school, had a good job ,but at 20 went off to live in London ,luckily i lived with an Actress and her husband ,so right from the start met and mingled with people who then were not massivly famous ,but a few did  become it

again i worked as a store manager ,then got into property ,made a fair bit but never rich, and then something happened ,which made my life go through some amazing things ,ive been married a few times had live ins ,have a lovely lovely family and for the last 26 yrs been married to a wonderful wife . boy its been a blast ,

so how about you lot give us the goods.

Never planned to have a particular life......but looking back on it I have been amazingly lucky.

Never particularly rich, generally very healthy, six beautiful (IMO) children and grandchildren and now married to a women 26 years younger than me who has just built and paid for a house for me to live in.......can't knock it really.

You have to understand that looking back on your life is never very mentally helpful, especially if you decide that what you did should of or could have been done differently.  The only thing we can do is to accept what we have, what we can work on to make life better if we feel something is missing and then live life to its fullest everyday.  2 divorces and 4 kids later I can say that even though divorced I have 4 wonderful and prosperous children who each have their own fulfilling lives.  With having a GF now who is half my age, and for the past 3 years having a very happy life I wake u each day with a smile on my face and a happy heart, the same as when we go to bed.  Life is good, but it could always be better, but why sweat the small stuff because life is what you make of it.

yes thanks, been a pretty good run... a lot of 'doing my dream' and good luck along the way... made it through the tough times...

and yes, have met some famous people who were in no way amusing but for maybe one...

have many nice people and a great Thai family...

Growing up relatively poor and having made the decision to move to SE Asia (without knowing why aside the weather) at age 16, to then have done that by the age of 20 and now living here for a decade, can't complain.

Beyond what I wanted, expected.  Born & raised poor, and wouldn't wish that on anyone.

Stepped in a lot of sh!t along the way, and came out smellin' good.

Amazing in itself ... just making it past 30 or 40 yrs old is amazing.

Actually didn't expect that to happen .. on way to 70, who would have thought.

Me & mine, all quite healthy, along with siblings & respective families.

Have a great best friend / dog, and even like my wife of 16 yrs (#4????)

Money wise, not rich, but more than enough, and would have a hard time

spending the wife & kid's inheritance.  Nice knowing they are set for life.

On that, excellent, self sufficient daughter, out of Uni last year.

Retired at 46, 67 now, and been here, Thailand 21+ yrs.

Been extremely fortunate, and deeply appreciative of that, knowing many not

so fortunate.  Can't really complain about a damn thing.

Has life been what wanted.

Honestly No.

I just lived life as it developed along with the good and bad.

The happiest thing for me was getting out of UK and getting to Thailand.

I have done everything I wanted, and now enjoying still being alive! Many of my friends is not, and the same many people I met during my time doing what we wanted most in the life at the moment!

Life give and take, it's been a rollercoaster of feelings, I'm happy!

Nothing on my bucket list, if I ever had one it's completed

Everything had been great until the international hysteria over the virus

Completely disrupted the plan and cost me 100s of thousands of dollars

Two full years in looking for the light and the end....now a war in Europe

One thing, for sure in my life everything eventually works out for the better

At least I am not dead from the disease, Putin's onslaught, or a refugee

This initial inquiry begs to offer that there might be a suggested convention and that to follow by way of a comparable note.

Why?

What part? Palawan? Cebu?

Palawan is beautiful, but if you get island sick, not to recommend. Cebu is a better alternative for living and Palawan for holiday. I would travel around a few months in the beginning if first time visiting Philippines.

If I go back now, I would give Dumaguete a longer try.

What was exciting was my 'Asian hooker' period from age 52-66 where I drifted aimlessly around Thailand/Cambodia/Philippines banging a random assortment of 30 year old females.

But even that's become dull now.

I have always thought of life as a fairground ,some like the slow rides ,some a mixture and some all the fastest rides they could cram in ,????

Yes you were lucky weren't you.....

"luckily my family were not very short of money although by no means wealthy, I went to a private school for many years and then to a grammar school, had a good job"

At my school (state), it was considered an achievement if you stayed on past 15 years old! We lived in a council flat in a big old Victorian house where we shared the toilet and bathroom with two other families.

That must be some work permit you have there then?

When I look back on all the mistakes I’ve made, there’s none that I would not make again, given what I knew then.

There’s no point wishing - I’m not David Watts, and I was never willing to do the effort required to be him.

No it's been horrible then I ended up here! Lets hope there is no reincarnation, imagine being born again and thinking god not this again!

No - but it wasn't from lack of trying.
