Its just the lead up to the old age crisis.

My midlife crises was the moment i substituted myself from the game. Walking off the pitch was painful as fudge. Pain until deep into the tunnel and the last of the crowd noise could be heard.

It ended (mostly) when I was in the players dressing room, in a warm bath and realised that this was actually quiet a comfortable place to be.

spent quite a bit flying around Asia while walking off the pitch mind.

I did not have a mid-life crisis, I had an epiphany.

Mine began once I got married to a Thai lady. ????

 

When I was younger, it used to be called a second childhood - now it is a mid life crisis... oh how the world has changed... 

 

Though if you drink from the pomposity cup for long enough, an epiphany...

My epiphany was stopping looking for a wife, it's been great ever since

it's not that hard to understand, try a bit harder.

I believe Grecian was speaking metaphorically, with the "pitcher's mound"/baseball game representing the rat race of business and his former life. When he decided to step off and let somone else take over the grind, he reflexively began to regret it, and it took a while (the "walk down the tunnel") before he realized that he was going to like relaxing instead of working hard (the soak in the hot water).

I had my mid-life crisis when I was 32.  I ended up going to university and pursuing a career.  Now I am retired.

Around 45 I came to realize I'm not cut out for the couples thing: I'm cool with that, I just wish I had figured it out sooner.

I have made my peace with death: when it comes it comes, my only wish at this point is to both live out my days and experience my death without anguish.  I would much prefer dying instantly than surviving in a state of being unable to live independently.

 

Do some math: if you do not know when you are going to die you never really know when mid-life is, eh? 

Same thing with retirement planning -- for how many years will you live?

I was born with it.

I think I've had those, mid life crisis, after every relationship (5) ended.  Lasted anywhere between 12-24 hours ????

Nope, and now I have to worry about an Old Age Crises; would be easier if I'd had been 'vaccinated' with the Mid Life Crises, probably  you suppose?

I'm  63, and looking forward to my midlife crisis

Where did I say, that I did not understand? You know, assumptions is the mother of all F-U´s. If you are referring to my confused emoji, then that was just because of the very weird explanation of a mid-life crisis.

However, I will not take up more of your precious time as it´s a beautiful Saturday. Now you you know that I do not need to or wish to try harder, though. Sincerely hope that will satisfy you. ???? 

I bought myself a Pearlescent purple TVR Tuscan, only kept it for 6 months, and traded it for a much more reliable Porsche. I did similar with a gogo dancer ????

Hit 54, became divorved, bought a Porsche Cayenne, and my Condo in BKK, travelled through the country using the zip lines in Chiang Mai,  and climbing the mountains in Khao Yai.  Then I realized my body was not meant for the abuse and I was not a teenager anymore.  Sold the Porsche and settled down to a life of relaxation.

I was still playing teenager, first 5 yrs here (45-50 yrs old).  Doubt if my family & friends would recognize me now ... "who are you, and what have you done with LA"  ????
