No problem, Thailand has plenty of police to go around.

There are currently about 230,000 police officers in Thailand. Thailand has about 340 police officers per 100,000 people. This ratio of police officers is much higher than that of neighboring countries such as Myanmar and the Philippines. It is about 1.5 times that of Japan and roughly equivalent to that of the United States.

The army Generals ratio must be up there as well.

Well what does one expect when a member of the "yellow shirt establishment" steps foot in "red shirt" territory!!

I wonder if he will buy any Shinawatra Silk Products ( a Chiang Mai based company) at the trade fair????

I think all this force on the road is just because there's nothing else much to do ànd simply because they can...

Holding posters which read “8 years, no future, get out”, “no future, but public debt” and “Loong Too (PM’s nickname), borrow, borrow, borrow” were waived by a small group of protesters, who were barred from entering the fair ground.

Mr popularity arrives in town.

That's the price politicians and the rich are paying and will continue even more in the coming future. An increase in bodyguards and protection of any kind, not only in Thailand but worldwide. They can fool and mess with the people of their country but can't walk free without a whole army of security around them.

Yes, but half of them are deployed at immigration to deal with foreigners.

They like to sleep when on duty.

This is why the ratio's are so much higher.

On duty perhaps. But a fair few just sign in then go off to their other job. I know a couple of them.
