You may be a non-American, but you are absolutely not a neutral observer.  Do you even understand how a search warrant is obtained?  There has to be suspicion that a crime was committed, that evidence

Correct.

But I am pretty sure the congress and senate together, maybe with others, can change the constitution and many laws.

Look at the last 4 years of Trump and in every of those years people didn't imagine how much worse it will get in the following year. And now try to imagine 4 more years. I have to admit my imagination is too limited to predict what will happen in the first year. And then there is another year. And another...

Even having an oval office meeting with the Russian foreign minister and only Russian media present? No other Americans at all? Looked kosher?

All just part of the story of the worst US president in history. This is the real reason for the raid.

The FBI executed a search warrant Monday at Donald Trump's Mar-a-Lago resort in Palm Beach, Florida, as part of an investigation into the handling of presidential documents, including classified documents, that may have been brought there, three people familiar with the situation told CNN.

It was awful quiet before this FBI no-knock search.

Trump never saw it coming.

He thought there would never be consequences for

his grifting life of crime as there haven't been before.

His safe would be the first place to go 55555.

This is the first time you have said Trump should be investigated for this matter so it's good to see you are coming round to what is the right thing to do.

And by the way, not a single person has labelled you as far right but you are being labelled as a Trump supporter as only Trump supporters have the audacity to defend this man as much as they do.

Well, since he did label trump critics on this forum "antifa types",  I'd say you have to be extremely far right to believe that. Also called  critics here "radical leftists."

You make a very valid point.

The FBI’s no-knock raid was made under authority of a judge signing the search warrant.

To obtain a search warrant the FBI had to present evidence to the judge that demonstrates to the satisfaction of the judge that there is evidence of a crime at the property.

To obtain a no-knock warrant the FBI need to make the case, to the judge’s satisfaction, that the subject(s) of the search might destroy or remove evidence.

So to answer your question, the FBI have convinced a judge that evidence of a crime exists at the property and that there is reason to believe the subject(s) of the search might destroy or remove that evidence.

Look on the bright side Johnny, it might not be Trump they’re after, it could be the cook or the gardener.

Oh no! Not the gardener!

Yeah, they're probably illegal immigrants.

CNN are reporting that the warrant was issued in relation to classified documents being removed. Does that make it a bit more serious?

Up to you, but IMO don't waste your time. it's bad enough trump childlike whining about lawful action by the FBI, let alone responding to his base. Don't recall it being mentioned on this forum with trump declaring he will abolish Dept of Ed if he got into power. Just underlines the guy's spite driven behaviour..

August 8th is becoming an unlucky day for presidential crooks.  Nixon resigned August 8th 1974, Trump gets raided by the FBI August 8th 2022.  They should declare it a public holiday.

He did have one once upon a time......but maybe they are looking for the butler with the candlestick who is the culprit.

Apart from a little fear that this will lead to the end of the world I would somehow like to see what will happen if Americans vote for Trump another time.

Will they then change the constitution so that he can stay forever?

Will they also change the laws to that the president has absolute power?

To what new extremes will he rise? I am sure it will be worse than any of us can imagine.

And last but not least: Will at any time in this process the big majority of Americans wake up and decide enough is enough? Or will they continue to support him until the bitter end?

To be fair a big majority of Americans had woken up at the last election; a landslide majority.  Let's just hope they don't slide back into the abyss.

Remember that familiar chant from 45's Hate-ins back in 2016, brought back again in 2020?

"Lock her up !"

That was because HRC had a server in her basement.

45 brought back at least 15 boxes of documents from the White House, some of which were classified TopSecret and other classifications, like the old classification of TS Umbra and Codeword. No reason to remove such docs from the safety of a heavily guarded facility, and he had no need for them. Why would he take them? As a private individual, he has no right to such things, as it could jeopardize 'sources and methods'.

Lock him up !

Gotta say I am puzzled by this too. The economy was cooking along, unemployment down (especially for minorities), low inflation, peace deals in the Middle East, criminal justice reform, booming energy sector.... I get that you didn't like the Bad Orange Man's personality or behavior.  I am with you on that. But they were 4 pretty good years for America as a whole.

Not to mention the loss to the nation's governing history which is the whole intent of the preservation of records act.

Right. The covid year was the best of them all.

Damning analysis of Trump's pandemic response suggested 40% of US COVID-19 deaths could have been avoided

A report on the Trump administration's policies suggested 40% of US COVID-19 deaths were avoidable.
Compared with six similarly wealthy countries, the US failed to protect citizens' health in the pandemic.
Trump publicly downplayed COVID-19 and often undermined health guidelines.

It wasn't the FBI who raided his house. It was Antifa.

Another false flag operation. Like looting the Capitol.

No other person on earth calls a polite search warrant a raid. What a hysteric.

To be fair, it was a no knock warrant. I'd call that a raid. Maybe the FBI didn't want to allow time for the cistern to refill?

Unemployment in the US only started to come down when Obama came into office and Trumps term just followed the trend. It only spiked because of covid and is now back down again.
