The National Police Policy Committee Meeting has voted unanimously to appoint Police General Damrongsak Kittipraphat as the next National Police Chief, succeeding Police General Suwat Jangyodsuk, who will retire on September 30th.

The meeting was chaired by the acting prime minister Prawit Wongsuwan.

Police General Damrongsak has, to date, been responsible for national security and the police cyber taskforce and will become the 13th National Police Chief.

What is missing from the report is his age and how long he will serve in post.

IMHO he is just the Buggins in Buggins turn next.

What is needed is promotion on merit only and NOT on seniority in rank, especially as posts in the RTP can be acquired on purchase (with enough money).

And "Big Joke" is deputy Chief of Police:

Police General Damrongsak was chief of cyber police before the new position.

Pol Lt Gen Surachate “Big Joke” Hakparn was also appointed as the deputy chief of police.

Pol Lt Gen Surachate was former chief of the Immigration Bureau.

Has this guy got a nick name yet...???.....  Like ‘Big Puddin’ or something similar ?

And no mention of how much his promotion is worth in brown envelopes, 555

Can never have enough policing officialdom within the police state.

Noted.

The usual game: he is 59 years old and so will serve for just one year!

His nickname is "den" (เด่น), the outstanding/excellent

Just to get a bigger pension.

In the British civil service his name would be Buggins.

The wings are awarded not from jumping from an aircraft, but from jumping from a platform. Sums up everything about these persons.
