Is there a reliable written version of whatever he has to say?

No, confirmed as it is now.

Glad we brought our vax cards so Cambodia should let us come back in.  I can say I haven't missed the Chinese tourists this past month.

Some people are  going to have to figure this out.  What if I was unvaxed or no records on hand and  spending a few day in a nearby country as part of my vacation. If flight back was Tuesday what then.   Unvaxed people who have non changeable flights after Monday?

Breaking: Thailand Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation Authority Releases to Airlines New Entry Requirements Effective From January 9th

Thailand has released new entry requirements this weekend to airlines, as originally stated as being proposed by Public Health Minister Anutin Charnvirakul earlier this week.

It was originally believed that the Thai Cabinet would debate the proposals next week, however, it now appears the new entry requirements have gone directly through the Ministry of Transport and CAAT, the Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand to be sent to airlines, to take effect as soon as possible. Multiple foreign airlines have reportedly already confirmed the new order.

Thaipbsworld, either their own website or their twitter account, is the best source for official information (being a public service broadcaster):

So, basically none of us need insurance unless flying to countries requiring testing. I'm ok with jus flashing my vaccine cards - but you just know they will soon try to cash in on it.

Nice of them to give a whole two day warning ????

555. I have never heard some of the vaccines listed.  One starts with "Shenzen??".  Ah, so pretty much any Covid Vaccine is acceptable. Also, the Sputnick Vaccine is approved as to not upset our friend Vlad and his people.

I guess if you do a trip to Laos the land border return entry will also require the proof of  vaccination?

Would be good to have one that stays on topic though. Just news and real information relating to the entry requirements and not arguing about vaccines or Covid numbers.

Chaos is the word that fits here... Travellers start to leave today Sunday and arrive tomorrow, but on Sunday  a lot is closed so difficult to arrange things if needed....Sadly Thailand know only a few days that the Chinese are coming??

Dear me. I’d be happier with a full lockdown to keep ‘that place’ out! Instead of targeting the guilty party, they bring everyone down to the lowest common denominator.

Thank you, again, China!

The gift that just keeps on giving.

"Non-Thai passengers arriving from countries which refuse entry to infected people must have taken out COVID insurance, valid throughout their stay in Thailand plus seven days, before their departure for Thailand. "

Which are the countries which refuse entry to infected people?

G'day

I wonder wether the new entry rules would be extended to quarantine and vaccination for those w.o. vaccination yet. Could be another income source.

Cheers

From the article:

"3. Thai Citizens with a Thai passport are exempt from all vaccination and insurance requirements."

So Thais do not need to show proof of vaccination? I understand the no insurance requirements!

So whats the point, if any?

Right, so if you have already made a booking to fly to Thailand,on Jan 10th say have no vaccinations, what do you do? No time to get vaccinated, so do you need a PCR test before traveling?

You'd have to cancel the trip.  Unless you have a vaccination exemption letter.  There is currently no option of submitting a negative test result.

They can't refuse entry to their own citizens!

that is what it appears.....these folks don't seem to understand that most normal people book a trip to Thailand well in advance and often their flights are non refundable as well as hotel bookings.

...so for those anti vaxxers that never got the shots good luck....and even with the tests if they decide to leave thailand for few days they likely would need yet another test to return to Thailand... another reason that u shoulda coulda woulda gotten the shots.
