Daily News Thai Caption: Seven shots fired in jealous rage

Daily News reported on a serious incident of jealous rage within a family in Sisaket, NE Thailand.

In Nam Kham sub-district police responded after a report that a woman had been shot in a house.

Dead at the scene from muiltiple gunshot wounds was 21 year old Feridabi Srijampa.

She had been shot in the face, the left and right arms, the left and right chest area, the right leg and the back - seven shots in all.

The shooter was her husband Thanawuth Latham, 32.

The victim's mother Bupha, 56, said that her daughter was startled that her husband was "crazy" and on his way after a phone call.

He arrived as two furniture men were assembling a bed and cabinet in the bedroom.

He tried to get in both the front and back of the proprety before he started shooting through the bedroom door that was locked from the inside.

At one point he hit the leg of his wife who was the other side of the door.

He then shot out the lock and gained access to the bedroom.

He pumped many more shots into the defenceless figure of his wife.

The furniture men managed to get out.

Thereafter the police received a report that a man matching the suspect's description had failed to negotiate a bend and come off on a "big bike".

A pick-up driver that saw him come off had picked him up.

Police were later informed that he was in Rasi Sawai hospital.

He turned out to be Thanawuth who had a broken left arm and broken left leg and facial injuries.

He was later transferred to Sisaket Hospital in policy custody.

The couple had two children aged 2 and 8 months, reported Daily News, who suggested a family in crisis through jealousy.

Well, they are better off without THAT father. I say they give baseball clubs to the victim's family and give them 5 minutes alone with the husband. Regardless of what happens, no charges against the family members. I think that is justice.

These so called men seem to get jealous very easily.  And are quick to resort to violence

two children aged 2 and 8 months,

With 2 toddlers the mother hardly had eny time to flirt with other men I would guess. So he was jealous about what exactly?

Dead at age 21. Tragic.

Lack of respect for females, as soon she become 'yours', do whatever you want.

Seen many domestic disturbance fights for decades here. Police do nothing when they stay together w/o children.

Time to change the laws, change how young boys are brought up, protection for women. And stop the endless soap tv every night with frequent violence against women.

Stone age mentality.

Hurt or kill a street dog, police arrest you.

Kick and abuse your gf or wife, get told to calm down and police leave the property.

Only when blood are visible on the women will the man maybe be brought to police station to calm down, and fined 100-300 baht. Released shortly after.

Awful story, and so tragic especially for the small children left behind.

Unfortunately violence against women isn't confined to Thailand, and through my life I've struggled to understand what drives it.

Most of us here were born in a different age, probably the majority in the 1950/60's when attitudes to women were very different.

But today attitudes have changed, women are more equal, yet still male violence to women remains, and you could argue might even be worse.

I'm in the lover not the fighter camp, but is it that collectively we're just not raising our boys correctly?

They are not damn cave men and need to act as such.

Whatever jealousy you have, whatever slight to your ego doesn't entitle you to hit or worse kill a woman.

Grow up and be a real man and deal with it

One of the most chilling videos I have ever seen was a young Thai guy walking into an office, walks up to the front of a desk, pulls a gun, empties the magazine into the young woman that was sitting at the desk and then calmly just walks out again. Her "crime"? They where boyfriend-girlfriend and she ditched him because he was screwing around on her - his excuse, women don't ditch him!

My mom told me the stories of marriage to my biological dad in the 70's. Sleepless nights, trips to the hospital. Calls to the cops resulting thusly: "We don't get involved in family matters". Fortunately she got the divorce and I didn't have to grow up with him.

RIP to the young wife, hope this bozo rots in jail for the rest of his life. As for the kids, what can I say, 2 & 8 months old, they will probably never realise what transpired, hopefully and the grandparents can do a good job raising them.

Every Thai girl I know, including the wife, don't want Thai guys, not because of money, but they are apparently very jealous, abusive, lazy, play the field and mostly depend on what the woman earns, so their future is a non evident, i.e. they would rather remain single unless they can find a tentative farang, regardless of age, as long as he treats her well and can support her without him sponging off of her, she will love him long time.

My wife tells me, your money is my money, and my money is my money, sounds fair to me ????

Every Saturday I can see a Farang with his wife at the local pub and his wife is not even allowed to go alone to the bathroom.
The whole night, he holds his wife by the hand and she is not even allowed to ask a for a drink.

Thai jealous man?
No need to look far to find the same behavior in Farang man.

From experience, most Thai men are adulterers and proud and unrepentant of it too.

Not allowed on TVF.  Unless negatively generalising about non-Thais. ????

I wonder if it was simply two men going into the house that triggered him?  Crazy to think that is all it takes to kill.

Saw a guy in a bar last night, with a bar girl who has been working there for years.

Just went to say hi to her, and the <deleted> got all angry and said don't talk to her!

Idiot farang doesn't realize he is with a bar girl who has slept with hundreds, maybe thousands of guys!

Will he get one point on his driving license for being "Incompetent"?

These are our neighbors.     Title says “easy” which IMO is a bad choice of words.   Shot seven times, travesty in our backyard.   Easy implies some sort of joke.

we are all in this together until you get on a plane and find better

I think in the 70's is was becoming much easier for women to just call it quits and leave.

However, I think Police attitudes took another decade to evolve to understand domestic violence
