Customers use the term "bargirl" to pretend that they aren't  paying for prostitutes and the usual claim is that they aren't paying for them to have sex, they are paying them to leave the next day .

  Same same, not even different

And you will fall in to the trap going on for ages debating nonsense. Thats why you get laughing emojis

  • In future we will hit the 'red love' reaction to show our hate for a post.

So it didn't bother you at all but you made sure you checked with all your posts who laughed? Correct?

I also see the reactions but I have to admit I didn't do research if maybe one member repeatedly clicks one or the other reaction icon.

Maybe we need another ignore function: Don't show if anybody laughed. Or don't show if member xyz reacted.

Slowly I understand why this site needs so many ads and so much money to administer all the snowflakes.

I always use the laugh one to save posting to remove it because some complaining naive.

I miss the sad one too. ????????

Sorry but I find it a little amusing that some of the more senior members on here, who are very keen to hand out life advice at every opportunity, are getting unsettled by a little laughing emoji.

Forget kids not being able to deal with social media culture, it's the old fellas who seem to be crumbling the quickest

Give it a few years and there wont be any old fellas left, mind you there most likely wont be a forum either.

I think a question mark would serve well as an addition to an laughing emoji

Hmmm. ????

No, the aim is for people to give  a personal opinion, rather than just laughing .

Say what you think , rather than just laughing

So if you say something I like (unlikely, but bear with me), do I have to post with a personal opinion? Or can I just click "like"?

Or do all the "like" notifications not bother you in the same way - I thought you said it was annoying to get these notifications?

Or maybe we could just reply to the thread and make an actual point?

These emoticons were a big mistake when they were invented, and I said so then.

But we are not allowed to comment on moderation, we are not allowed to flame someone, what BS is that. IMHO, this is the reason that this forum is  approximately 5% volume of when it was open a free. We can't even write 'h.e.l.l' or 'a.r.s.e'. Come on, we are grown ups.

Good, it was being abused to troll members. 99.99% of them weren't in response to a joke or sarcasm.

Are you serious, how pathetic?

True...  one poster twit with whom I disagree with quite often used the ‘laugh emoji’ on nearly all of my posts for a while...  he was clearly trolling me.... very easy to ignore though so it never bothered me at all....

????well lets take away all emoticons for the wokes

????????????..... I know, it´s a serial thing. Also, it was actually @Hummin that said you deserved it. ????

Now to the facts. A Bargirl and a Prostitute is absoultely not same. Just look at the spelling and the letters.

How stupid is that we can say bargirl but not whore or hooker?

And the "troll" callers........?   :whistling:

I can't figure out what you mean wth that. Are you saying that some posters have been using the Haha emoticon to express their opinion that somebody is a troll?

The problem with this emoticon seems to be that it can be and is being used to express a great variety of emotions, so much so that its use has become impractical and useless. Incomprensible is the word for it, I believe.

I didn't say that it was my personal space .

Forums have rules and one of those rules is that laughing at serious posts is considered to be trolling

It might be serious to the OP but laughable for others who have more knowledge.

When you see a post is popular it either means it is in fact popular or Liverpool Lou as replied 10 separate times.

[haha emoticon] This made me laugh, even though I don't think I ever noticed any member replying to a post ten times, or counting how many times a member replied to a particular post.

Typing the above, I just realised that when the haha emoticon is followed by a text giving the meaning for which it is used, it is not useless. But then, why use an emotion at all? It can draw the readers' attention to the text that follows it, I think.

That is what forums are for .

Now you are just going to sit at home laughing to yourself when reading forums ????

Some people have limited time to explain everything to everybody as they need to work too.

Perhaps we should add to the laughing icon ???????????? an icon that shows the displeasure ????????????. Then it would be clearer if a poster finds a posting funny or stupid ????????????.

Sometimes I, myself write a reply that is so completely and utterly stupid that it deserves to be mocked far and wide - for this I expect a load of laughter and being a normal person with a sane mind I laugh along at my own little but rare mistake.

Oh yeah , bargirls are just the cashier who only started work on Monday , I forgot that .

Did you forget?

Or do you pretend to know something which you actually don't know?
