in the past, for all nationalities, it went on until an immigration officer could not be persuaded one was a tourist and entry was refused.  Thanks...

Happened to a couple I new about 6-7 years ago.  They didn't want to spring for the 800,000 in the bank so kept coming in as tourists every 90 days.   One day coming in to Thailand the IO told them that it was their last time as tourists.  So they had to cough up the 800,000.

Something not mentioned that I could see,  they are also taking lot of Thai girls.  Many more then I saw before.

Russian males young and older in the malls, beaches, etc. with Thai girl.

I doubt the guy in the first photo would be much use on the front line.  How can under 50s stay for any extended period.

Russian frontline only needs "meat" and he's fully qualified.

Good then they not kill or get killed

A lofty and uprising thought but many think that's only about half right.

Whilst you may be correct, many younger Russians have 'purchased' ED visas and are continuing to do so!

That certainly worked for the Chinese for a long while.... until it didn't.

He can simply declare the fleeing conscription-qualified person(s) as escaping their patriotic duty to protect the Motherland, charge with some military crime, cancel passport and request Thailand deport them back to Russia for their "crimes."

There was something in the news the other day about Thailand and Russia reaching agreement on a new extradition treaty.  Wonder how that's going to fit into the whole "Russians flee  Russia for Thailand" story?

Thai cabinet approves draft extradition treaty with Russia

"According to Rachada, the treaty does not require the approval of the Parliament..."

Putin declares them all draft-dodging criminals, and demands their extradition from Thailand???

This is going to be a big mess. No way do most of the Russians have the financial means to stay here long term.

not the 20+ year olds  I saw at Phuket immigration last week.

Omg has Ukraine invaded Russia? Pics here doubt some those guys on beach will be called up ! unless run out of younger draftees already " few younger ones in Vietnam too ! won't be long passports maybe cancelled or more than likely sons of elites inside Russia  & Now on Thail ⛱️ lf passport cancelled or not allowed to leave Russia.

Thais may have deport few back or caught on over staying ! Can't claim refugees status " lf draft dodging possible conscious objector???? UN or Human rights if it still exists after forced covid vaccination ! Rather be on a Thai beach than front lines of Russia invasion inside Ukraine " Putin may crack down passport travel " Only poor Rusky's stuck inside Russia ! No choice they'll be heading front line .

Making what up exactly? When they return home? Did I claim they are running from already signed up mobilization orders?

What I don't understand is, why Russia doesn't just close down it's borders, so no men at a certain age can leave the country and dodge getting drafted
