Nowhere close to an established rail line by my memory.

Plern, old buddy, you kind of tipped your cards when you said Bangkapi is not in Bkk. Why don't you go find some wood to chop and sit the rest of this thread out.

There is an easy solution. Ask your favorite bar girls.   In the middle of the city there is one area at the end of Sukhumvit 22 before it turns left.  And in areas like Sukhumvit 71 an

This one is asking their Chinese customers to add Wechat.  And if you look at the right column, quite a few of the ads have this.  [中国客户,请加微信。 在联系方式的旁边]  You'll need to check this out, could be the broker/agent is specializing in Chinese owned condos being rented out as hotel rooms.  You could be getting new neighbors every other night.  By the busload..............

If you go to the facebook link, these ads are for condos all over Bangkok.

Yep, a slummy area with dirt cheap rooms

Nice, semi-furnished, aircon quiet studio apartment with lots of natural surroundings. Less than 10 min walk to Bang Chak SkyTrain station. 20 minute walk to Lotus or Big C. 7-11 5 mins. Was B4500 a few years back. Prob B5000 now. Disaporn Mansion, Sukhumvit Soi 91, Bang Chak.

A slummy area?

I go there often to eat noodle soup in the morning. There are also lots of other vendors on the street.

Is it luxurious? No.

Is it slummy? I don't think so. At least that term never crossed my mind when I was there. And I wouldn't visit any slummy area if I don't need to.

This is a Google street view image of that area.

Yes, not belaboring the point. Is it technically Bangkok - yes. Despite not being IN Bangkok many often consider Suvarnabhumi Bangkok as well. It's not. Bangkapi is roughly the same distance from BKK CBD as Nonthaburi as you can see by the map I posted. This fact and that I'd have no idea other then work why a single, foreign male would want to live *out there*

While I'm certain there are some benefits, I'll bet my detractors the op decides to not opt for bangkapi.

PA Tower on Phahonyothin Road Soi 46  costs 5000 a month for Air con room with bathroom , fridge  etc and nice roof top swimming pool. Also coffee shop on site.  Monthly deals possible but 10,000 refundable deposit needed.  tel. 02 551 2639

Easy walk to Tesco and BTS station but long way from ' exotic ' night life. Plenty of good food in the area when we lived there.

Well....you get what you pay for.  Just a typical Bangkok suburb. Only stayed 3 months while wife was studying at Rangsit. I really enjoyed the roof top pool which I nearly always had to myself.

Before looking at a bunch of condos/rooms, you might want to figure out WHERE in Bangkok you want to live.  If you work here, I would strongly suggest that you look in the area where you work or someplace that is a very short and easy commute to your office.

There are thousands of apartments in Bangkok, with many in your price range.  I would recommend going to your office and looking around.  There will probably be several mansions (apartment buildings) withing a 5 or ten minute walk.  Just walk in and ask if they have any rooms free and how much they cost.

If you are a handsome man (and aren't we all!) the front desk girl might direct you to the perfect room for your price range and location.

Give it a rest already, not everyone has a need to go to the CBD frequently, if at all. Choices!

It looks like your idea of Bangkok is squashed in between Soi Cowboy and Nana

No, it runs from Morchit BTS down to city center and out to Saphan Taxin. City center out to OnNut and out to old Bangkok palace areas of Banglamphu. Blue line Chatuchak south to Chinatown (and out to Banglamphu.

That's Bangkok.

You live at the Siam Kempinski Hotel?

A total guess, but it's possible that they wanted to make the room cheaper, to make it easier to rent, and avoid having to pay maintenance on the AC unit.

With your budget you won’t find a condo .

Easy to find a condo in Bangkok in that range.  Rooms can be condos also.
