i would just like to say something.

my wife, who is 100% Thai is anything but a patriot.

Infact, she does nothing but moan about her home country, day in day out.

She dislikes her fellow countrymen/women, hates the hot weather and despises those in charge..

don't even mention the color yellow to her.. her favorite color is black!

about the only thing she does like here is the food.

I'm just curious, what would you lot say to my wife if you ever met her?

i mean,, you cant exactly tell her to go home, can you? as she is home..

should she just put up and shut up?

or is she right to voice her anger and frustration at the country in which she was born..

It kinda rubs off on me to be honest ????

Take her to Beijing for a month so she can experience what a disparaging hectic life looks like. She be thrilled to go back home.

Like the way you now use Paul's Grandad as your icon! Does that reflect on your personality? 555

If she thinks she will be happier somewhere else then she should move to that happier place.

And if for whatever reason she can't do that or doesn't want to do that then she should learn to make the best out of it. Just moaning forever doesn't make her life better.

Thumbs up to her for having an independent mind. Being critical of your home country is nothing special in most countries.

True love

Similar to my marriage.

I have heard stories of Thai women that will do and say anything to take a man's money.  Mrs Smith may be one of these ladies. Does she also call you handsome man?

Is this the same woman that you took to Ko Chang who called her brother to come and kick your butt?

Right.

Looking down on the pollution

Swimming in the pollution

breathing in the pollution

Think it would make her worse

Moaning is actually a good thing, as bottling it up leads to an explosion, sooner or later, and sometimes it even leads to people dying as in postal workers and guns.

I know a guy that never moans, but he's not very pleasant to be around these days as he is so full of unspoken anger that the vibe is not good.

Perhaps the OP can just join in and moan about the country he left to go and live in LOS, and she will understand that most have problems with their home country. I certainly do.

My GF is a happy soul, very few grizzles from her.

Like many northern Thais, she thinks Prayut, the junta, and the police are all criminals.

If it is important, then change it!

Don't repeat the same again and again and do nothing about it.

I see a red door and I want it painted black.  No colors anymore I want them to turn black.
