A recent poll  conducted in Phitsanulok   surveyed 100 Thai  men and women and they were asked to list their top 3 complaints /annoyances  with  Farangs. The top three answers in rank order are listed below

                         1- arrogance 

                         2-  a false sense of superiority

                         3- large beer guts

#1 and #2 could easily be my main complaints about Thais. Not exactly #3, albeit some women are getting fat (beer, or no beer)...

If I may quote the inimitable Michael Flanders and Donald Swann, from their seminal work, "A Song of Patriotic Prejudice":

They of course were condemning our European neighbours, (all those years before Nigel Farage as well

!) but in these global times I think the sentiment can be applied universally.

My sample is small. I sampled 200 girls, mostly beer bar girls, where many foreigners go to hunt for their future brides to retire using "wify visas." and they do agree with the above conclusions. Given everything equal, their preferences are Thai, followed by Koreans and Japanese, and then come the western caucasians because they identify themselves with Asian people.

Guilty and deservedly true on all acounts except i try to keep my beer belly to 2 kg. 

I can certainly understand 1 and 2.
