I had downloaded a movie called, "Leave The world Behind" a while back and finally decided to watch it. Although there were some minor twists and turns in it, just enough to keep me interested, the ending was, IMO, pathetic!

Have still not understood the ending and even going online to one of those websites which explains the endings of various movies, I got no satisfaction.

Like they did the ending while the writers were on strike.

Difficult to keep up the high standards set by season 1 , season 2 was a little slow but picked up and season 3 was a cracker !!

I class True Detective in the same way as Fargo, which was superb until season 4 but then redeemed itself with season 5 .

All imho of course.

I found Season 5 of Fargo started out great, but then got a bit bland and repetitious. Still have the last episode to watch.

I've gone back to the Fringe series, 5 season's with 20 plus episodes per season.

Just finished it, 1st time, and quite enjoyed it. Held me over for couple weeks, while other current series completed.  Hate watching anything weekly and prefer to binge.

Did the same with 'Person of Interest', a month earlier, though did watch it when originally released.   Worth a watch if never seen or need some filler.

Got 'The Wire' downloaded for the next big lull in downloads.   Never watched, and 'drug gang' movies aren't my thing, but has a few actors I like.   Q'd for after I clear the current series & movie files out.

Watched the final episode of Fargo last night.  What a pretentious let-down!  A 20 minute Woke conversation tacked on as if the writers didn't know how to finish.

In other news I eagerly watched the 1st episode of True Detective.  What a crashing disappointment! It's set 3 days into the Arctic Winter so no sunlight.  The writers must have decided to do the woke thing; (we've done black Americans, Red-skinned Americans, so what's left?)  Innuits!  Unbelievably confusing as a plethora of new characters are scatter gunned into the plot; incoherent dialogue requiring subtitles.  I gave it 30 head-aching minutes before I moved on;

To 'Monsieur Spade'.  Much brighter as it's set in France.  As a professional novelist & would-be TV/Movie writer I am intrigued that it is possible to take a fully formed/created character (from The Maltese Falcon et al), substitute Clive Owen for Humphrey Bogart, and write a TV series about him.  Another + for the hard of hearing Owen gets to speak schoolboy French with an execrable accent but with sub-titles.

Andes Plane Crash

Embark on a harrowing journey of survival with Andes Plane Crash.

This gripping episode unveils the chilling aftermath of a plane crash in the Andes, where the resilience of the human spirit is tested in the harshest conditions.

For over a week, two survivors bravely traversed the unforgiving mountains, desperately seeking help. What makes this tale even more extraordinary is that they lacked specialist equipment and proper mountain attire, making their quest for survival all the more remarkable.

As the clock strikes 10:00 Pm, viewers are in for a riveting exploration of human endurance, courage, and the sheer will to survive against all odds.

You reignited my interest in this particular plane crash, Will27, and I remember seeing a film about it a few years back, but I couldn't remember what it was called and there seem to be a few made about this particular incident, including documentaries – – so I went back online and found the one that I remembered from way back, called "Alive", downloaded and watched it last night, and enjoyed it.

It starred Ethan Hawke, amongst others and as I said, was very watchable. HOWEVER if there is another one out there which is good/better, then I'd like to know about it, please.

PS. Forgot to mention that I also watched another of my old favourites a couple of nights ago, and it was a film starring Gerard Butler, probably one of his best movies IMO, and it was called, "Law Abiding Citizen", and I thought it was very well done, not necessarily for the special effects, but because of the way Jamie Foxx, the lawyer, conducted the case, which did not bode well for Butler – – I know it's only a movie, but I wonder how often such things could happen in real life??

Looking through the movies available on BBC iPlayer I came across one that I had seen a few years back, but couldn't remember too much about, called, "The Theory of Everything" about Stephen Hawking, and I'm so glad that I downloaded it, because it was brilliant.

Not only was Eddie Redmayne absolutely amazing in it, his movie wife, Felicity Jones was also amazing and not only that she is absolutely beautiful IMO.

There are a couple of scenes that brought tears to my eyes, especially at the end when he and his now "ex-wife" are watching their three grown-up children running around in a garden, and he says, "Look what we have Made" and I do believe that both actors really lived that scene and that's what made it so special and moving.

If you haven't seen it, then my advice is to watch it.

I guess it would be of special interest to Giddyup....or any other Oz that lived in Brisbane in that era.

One of the most corrupt police forces ever (I am saying that while I live in Thailand)

I read the book some time back---Sort of True story. People like Slim Halliday (played by Bryan Brown) was an escape artist from Bogga rd Prison. Some of the other  character's...a bit of a stretch.

Netflix wanted to shoot this in LA, but in the end it was done locally around Brisbane. Its upset a few locals of that time....

This series was excellent, what a talent that young lad is. All the characters well played, and a good story

New Aussie series.
Richard Roxburgh is always worth a watch.

Set in the inner sanctum of an evangelical megachurch run by the wealthy Quinn family, when their charismatic founder announces a US expansion, the collision between faith and ambition threatens to tear his family and church apart.

What's all the hype about the Aussie series Boy Swallows Universe? I got less than halfway through episode 1 before I gave it away. I found it just silly and pretentious, but that's me. Anyone actally enjoying it?

Could not get into it. Was it supposed to be a comedy? Gave it away when the prison guards were removing an unplugged TV still showing a picture, and the brother signwriting messages.
