Isn't this Thailand and aren't they a guest here???? Why should the hospital have to pay extra expenses for the Russian trash?? If they get sick let them pay for their own translater,, if they get loud throw them out,, if they cause problems like they are then revoke there visas and throw them out,, stop them from coming here Sri Lanka kicked 300,000 of them out because of the same thing,,it's about time Thailand did the same.

I am from that country and I have lived in different regions - not in Moscow or St. Petersburg - they're different from the rest of the territory. And I can see in the local Telegram channels what the people have become there. Even my friends and relatives are not the ones to me anymore with all their support to Putin and the war ..

It is a pity I am not around in these situations. (I am 6ft tall and weight best part of 200 lbs.) The Russians need to understand that Thailand is a culture based on 'kreng jai' (politeness) and cooperation. Anybody here in for some 'total immersion'?

I have only read 1 page of comments, but if anyone has read the story that was in The Phuket News yesterday, last week a Russian man refused to pay for treatment and then came back 2 days later and wanted more free treatment.  His girlfriend brought a baseball bat and threatened the staff.   Police were called and the hospital filed a formal complaint asking for justice.  The Russian wasn't arrested (why not?) and just paid his bill.   Vachira is NOT an international hospital, it is a public government hospital, and everyone has to Wait Their Turn to get treatment.  It is a good hospital, but a public hospital.   Prices are supposed to be reasonable.   I  go to the international hospitals for convenience, and I personally think the prices are reasonable compared to any hospital in the United States.  No one should expect Free treatment and when asked to pay pull out a baseball bat and threaten the staff.  In my humble opinion,.

As I have previously mentioned, I often travel to and from Hong Kong where my Thai wife and I have permanent residency (no local language skills etc as required here).

 

I mainly go for a change of scene and weather, but also for the excellent (almost free) medical care.

 

Every appointment slip or registration clearly states that these services are primarily provided for HK residents and that other foreign walk ins may be treated in an emergency,  BUT AT THE FULL COST of the procedure plus medicines.

This is NOT "robbing" the foreigners, and is clearly stated, so no misunderstandings.

 

Last year I was in the waiting room for a regular check up when a nonresident man (foreigner tourist?) started getting agitated and rowdy about the time it was taking to be seen.

 

The staff tried their best to appease him, but with no success after 10 minutes, 2 armed policemen (not security guards) arrived and hauled him away.

 

They don't mess around there!

A lot of this stuff just weirds me out. I spent a week on a Russian ship and got on well with all of them. But, for some reason, Thailand seems to get the worst of them.
