The police must remain ever vigilant, there is a chance that the morality of the nation could be contaminated by events such as these, and we would not want moral degradation to take place in the land

  • just to be clear I was at home last night watching porridge on UK Gold...

  • Other than the taking or possession of illegal drugs, what is illegal about this gathering of scantily clad like-minded men and women?

This is the perfect example of Thailand middle class, make their public image clean, speak about morality and Thainess, then when the cameras are turned off their licentiousness emerges.

In an extraordinary crackdown, Thai police swept into an unauthorised gathering in Bangkok's Watthana district, arresting over 120 scantily clad individuals at a hotel party floor.

Early on Sunday morning, officers raided Room 2001 of the fashionable S31 Hotel, ending an event that veered into illegal territory.

Pol Col Pansa Amarapitak, commanding officer at Thong Lor, recounted the striking scene. Attendees, including both Thai and foreign nationals, were discovered in various states of undress, allegedly under the influence of drugs such as ecstasy and ketamine. The majority were identified as gay men, with a small number of women also present.

This wasn’t the first time the venue was flagged. Police had been tipped off about a similar party just the night before, from Friday evening rolling into Saturday morning.

Their attempts to infiltrate the festive gathering via a private social media group had previously been thwarted, but persistence led them back to the premises.

Forewarned of the repeated partying, police entered Room 2001 in the early hours, interrupting the lively assembly of guests. Alongside offerings of food and drink, authorities found illicit substances shadowing the celebratory atmosphere.

Although the party had initiated elsewhere, guests reconvened at the hotel for a secondary round. Drug testing on-site revealed that a significant portion of the attendees were embroiled in narcotic use.

Specifically, 31 individuals, including one woman, were in possession of drugs, while 66 others, another woman among them, showed signs of consumption.

Fortunately, 27 guests tested negative for drug residue and were subsequently released. However, the raid has drawn attention to such clandestine gatherings and the prevalence of drugs within these circles.

Remarkably, the attendees included professionals, such as doctors and individuals associated with the beauty sector, adding further intrigue to the incident. As investigations continue, reported Bangkok Post,

Black under wear makes the skin look lighter and a lighter colored skin makes you more attractive?

At least that is what some people think.

I wonder what is so remarkable about professionals being in attendence? Is the implication that gay people, swing party goers and drug users could not possibly be professional people? What a daft observation! One has to wonder what world these journalists live in, because it doesn't seem to be the real one!

One may suffer the illusion that professionals would realize how much they have to lose if they get banged up with drugs in Thailand.

I think there's a tremendous tolerance for gay underwear parties in LOS.  But, like it or not, not much tolerance for illegal drugs.

It would be interesting to see how many get deported.  Though I suspect that there's a solution where that won't be necessary.

Perhaps they were all in their underwear to make sure no one was wearing a wire. Keep out the undercover cops. 😀

Note it all seemed to be matching undies..? Some form of a “theme” sausage party.. perhaps a formal affair

Those who tested negative for drugs will have their details recorded by the police

Why? No laws violated. I don't believe this is done to people testing negative to drugs at police road check points. Seems more to inflate the police report.

Were you invited?

AKA a sausage festival.

I was wondering if any proud AN members were in attendance.

Upon a closer look at the photos I couldn’t identify anyone over 75, so probably not.

Appears the BIB didn’t receive a brown paper bag.

Same thing has happened in Pattaya at local Swingers parties over the years.

Where was the cameraman in that first photo? Looks like he was hanging from a chandelier.

Scantily clad eh? How awful. 🙂

I saw a guy with a fan covering his face was that Big Joke, the generals of generals of police in this country.

How were the attendees assessed as being 'gay'?

Where did the 31 found to be in possession of drugs conceal them?

Under Thai law, what constitutes 'an illegal gathering'.

Clandestine

adjective

kept secret or done secretively, especially because illicit.

Who are we supposed to inform about our orgies so they're not "secret"?

Department of Orgies (DOO)? 🤩

No thank you!  I am not even the slightest bit interested in "SLOPPY SECONDS" with a normal sexual encounter!🤢🤮

I heard that when you get into a threesome in Bangkok, it is called as a "LOTTERY WIN" as all 6  balls would be lined up!🤪

So much for the myth of  gay tolerance. A gathering of consenting adults and with drug quantities of minimal amounts. And for this, the police  undertake a lengthy covert operation and then proceed to humiliate people who are otherwise law abiding and peaceful. And meanwhile, under the very noses of the police children are trafficked for sexual purposes, drugs are trafficked and violent crimes undertaken.

A quick look at the photo shows most everyone is probably between ages 23 and 35.  All of them are fit. No one is covered in tattoos. Right off the bat, it is easy to tell that they are well off and educated by Thai standards.  My takeaway is that this will result in a shakedown. The charges will go away once a brown envelope is volunteered.

It is less likely to show stains. I expect that some people will be oozing  or dripping once they get done. I doubt shower facilities were provided.

What's with the underwear? Shy guys?

It makes it easier to see who is wearing surveillance equipment. Some people sell videos  either for monetization purposes or as extortion. Others are snitches. And yes, Thais are remarkably modest. My thai male friends wear underwear under their swim shorts. I have asked why, and they honest response is that they don't want to expose the outline of their distended genitalia.

Yeah of course you're right about Thai modesty.

On the face of it, it could be seen as a theme party but then you get into the drugs part and that does sound like it's a problem.
