A night of partying on Bangla Road turned into chaos when a drunken Russian tourist was hospitalised after a violent altercation with security guards.

The incident unfolded at Oscar Bar, Patong, late last night, December 18. Police were called to the scene at 11.50pm, where they found 31 year old Russian national Evgenii Kozlov seriously injured after a scuffle with bar security.

According to initial reports, Kozlov, heavily intoxicated, climbed onto the stage and began dancing, disrupting the bar’s operations. Security guards, 30 year old Chalermphon Suphannaphon, 28 year old Thammakach Sukho, and 19 year old Watcharaphon Laowong intervened, removing him from the stage.

The situation escalated when the Russian man reportedly began acting aggressively towards other patrons, prompting complaints. As the guards attempted to escort him out, a struggle ensued, culminating in a violent brawl. Kozlov was left with serious injuries, while the guards reported minor injuries, including bruised knuckles and a torn shirt.

All parties were taken to Patong Hospital. While Kozlov received treatment for his injuries, the security guards underwent medical evaluations to confirm their claims of harm, reported The Phuket News.

Patong Police are investigating the incident, with charges expected against those responsible.

It will interest me to see how this thread unfolds.

Will we have the usual farang apologists out in force?

Or not, because he is Russian?

Lets see.

Russian, British, American, Australian or European. Number one thing to know in Thailand, is don't <deleted> with Thai security guards (or any Thai guys or motorsai riders or taxi drivers). It will never end well for the non-Thai. Just don't do it.

but that's why alcohol is so stoooooooooopid.

it makes you agressive, but not able to fight or defend yourself.

maybe if he was sober, he would be a beast.

but if he was sober, he wouldnt be dancing like an idiot on the stage and then starting a fight in the first place.

yes ... they probably bruised their fists with their brass knuckles on ... and probably some head kicks as these low lifes usually do.  They're not professionally trained security,  more like thai thugs.

When I work security in my younger days we pushed people out of the bars , we never beat them or fought with them , the security guards here wait for an opportunity to beat people here ,and they beat them badly, 3 guards and they couldn’t just put him out the door without a beating ,bs.

Same story in Patong. Eyes light up and beer bottles become weapons when a farang is in the midst of a fracas.

3 onto 1. Usual Thai style. And head stomping. They're security. They're not supposed to beat up customers. Restrain, yes. They've put this guy in hospital. Criminal charges should follow. If they're not trained properly, they're just dangerous thugs.

'... rule number 1 is ... don't.'

Especially with the street hooligans AKA 'security guards'.

That stupid Russian's condition is inexcusable. The consequences for said 'guards' will likely be as if they'd merely blown powdered sugar up his anal sphincter.

Unfortunately some people seem to almost beg for the thug treatment....and then complain when they get it. Act like a civilized human being and you will receive reciprocal treatment.
