The Unwavering Support for Hamas: A Moral Blind Spot

The bigger photo from the O.P.

Hamas took two babies as hostages (Which is a war crime) , they took a 9 month old baby , a 2 year old and its Mother as hostages .

Hamas strangled the two babies after 1 month , killed them with their bare hands and then desecrated the bodies it make it  appear like they died in an Israeli airstrike . They tried to hide the strangulation and make it appear they died in a bomb attack .

I really hope that the Mother was already dead and didn't see what Hamas did to her babies

After keeping the dead bodies for 14 months , they give the bodies back in exchange for prisoners , prisoners  who had been jail for mass murder .

Hamas then displayed the coffins of the deceased with a poster stating that Netanyahu is a war criminal who is responsible to the babies deaths and they add the word Nazi in for good measure .

They sang and joyfully danced when handing over the deceased bodies and got children to dance on the same stage .

Israelis line the road to mourn their returning dead  .

Hamas had put the body of a Palestinian woman in the coffin instead of the Israeli Mother

Everytime Hamas sink to new depths of evil , they always seem to go even lower

No words can describe just how horrific this horror show was. Even the children dancing on the stage next to the coffins of  the Bibas children

Yes, there really are people who are just plain evil. Every person who has ever chanted “from the river to the sea” should immediately denounce Hamas and apologize for being an accessory to pure wickedness

I agree 100% with this assessment.  Hamas, has FAFO and although there are so many who have eaten the pill that Hamas is being persecuted and that genocide is being put upon them by Israel, they need to remember that there was peace until Hamas attacked.

Should the US have just sunk a few Japanese ships after Pearl Harbor was attacked? No, it was war until Japan's complete capitulation.  Millions of Japanese were killed, but it was not genocide, nor was the US accused of it.  Israeli should not be either.  Hamas has not been defeated and they are still parading their hostages making a mockery of the whole thing.

Oh, so you would like a disclaimer so that anyone could make whatever antisemitic comments they like without being called out, as long as they prefixed their comment with said disclaimer … righto

I wonder why you, out of all the posters on here has suggested that, and would even like to see it enshrined into law; now let me think ¯\_()_/¯

No not a disclaimer.

As I pointed out in my post you have replied to, “It’s a clear statement that I and many critics of Israel’s war on Gaza have frequently made, so not at all contentious.”

Those looking to take offense might have missed that.

I don’t need a disclaimer’ I have frequently referred to Hamas as a heinous terrorist organization and their attack of October 7 as an unequivocally a heinous terrorist act that has and has absolutely no justification.

That is my view.

I support Israel’s right to defend itself and I support Israel’s right to bring the Oct 7 terrorists (Hamas) and those who planned and ordered heinous terrorist attack (Hamas) to Justice which includes killing them (Hamas)

However, my support for Israel in the above does not extend to Israel doing anything it chooses to further those legitimate ends.

I believe I have in the past made those views clear.

False premise of the op. There is no unwavering support of hamas.

Nor is there, or ever was a country called Palestine

So you’re okay with Israel making an omelet, they just can’t break any eggs.

I’m alright with the topic of discussion.

If the Palestinians are all great people please explain the following:

1. The recent sickness of Hamas with the Israeli bodies was not what any reasonable person would call acceptable.

2. Why wont any of the Gulf countries let Palestinians into their country?

A reasoned answer would be appreciated.

Murdered in cold blood with bare hands. Sky News segment with some of the details from the OP

"These innocent children were murdered by Palestinian terrorists, there’s no justification, no excuse. This is the truth that too many try to ignore or distort."

So by your reckoning, all Americans should suffer because some of them voted for a particular candidate? What about those who didn't vote for the HAMAS political wing?

Try to stop this collective blaming/collective punishment mindset. It's unhealthy.

It wasn't just Hamas that did all the kidnappings though .

Other groups also kidnapped Israelis  , that's why there was a mix up with the bodies , non Hamas people took and held the bodies and handed them over to Hamas to be released .

There did also seem to be ordinary Palestinians  participating in the OCT 7 the terror attack

Nothing to do with my post.

It’s an accusation that is frequently leveled against anyone who supports the rights of Palestinians and an end to the war.

The only way to end the war peacefully is all hostages released immediately and a full unconditional surrender by Hamas fighters. Hamas is responsible for all the deaths and could end this by accepting that and being held accountable

Hamas is ordinary Palestinians.

I’m not sure how that relates to my post you responded to or indeed the subject of the thread.

Gazan Influencers  :saai:

"a Gazan influencer and Hamas supporter—celebrating the Bibas family handover on the left, and on the right, entering Israel on October 7, 2023, sword in hand, as a dead Jew is taken to Gaza."

Why do no Arab countries want to take in the Gaza Palestinians?

One reason, which I have certainly read with respect to Egypt, is that they are afraid of militant Islam. Egypt doesn’t want to let in floods of Palestinian refugees because they know Hamas would be hiding among them, and they already have trouble in Sinai with Muslim militants, and with the Muslim Brotherhood. Maybe that’s true of others as well.

When thousands of Palestinians were in Jordan following the 1967 war, they created a state within a state that was so disruptive that Jordan exiled them and they fled to Lebanon. There they destabilized Lebanese society that had gone on for centuries with 21 minorities and 6 major sects living in harmony, and they generated a civil war that essentially wrecked Lebanon.
