I have one that bugs me.

I take a taxi to work 5 days a week.

The inability of a significant percentage of taxi drivers to find my condo is a mystery to me.

 

It is located 1 km off Ramkhamheang Rd., take one main soi and make 1 left turn and you are there.

The security guard calls me a taxi and sometimes 2 taxis cancel because they can't find the place.

Sometimes I can see the taxi stopping in the middle of the soi and apparently giving up and turning around unable to continue another 200 meters.

 

Grab charges a 20 baht flat fee on a 60 baht fare and often no Grab taxis are available in my area when needed so I rarely use Grab.

 

The taxi drivers always show up with a little scrap of paper with directions on it from the dispatcher.

The drivers are unable to find the condo on a regular basis, I would say on the order of one out of ten.

What I can't figure out is why the dispatcher considers this acceptable and doesn't try to improve the directions given.

 

Only needs go "east on Ramkhamheang, left on soi xx0, after 600 meters left on soi 1x.

Continue 400 meters Condo on the left."

Alternatively, my condo is on Google maps, only need to enter the name of the condo to get directions.

 

I don't get it.

They love and respect their country so much they treat it like a toilet.

Rain season can be good, but to much flies and mosquito.

 

No Spanish/Portuguese style clean, comfortable and air conditioned combined cafes/bars/restaurants open from 6am until midnight (or when the last customer decides to go home).

Honestly, just embarrassing to see foreigners tourists and expats who can not dress decent when they are in Thailand. Do not ned any special dress code, but try to appear a bit clean and think about how they present themselves. 

 

One thing is backpackers, yoga fanatics,  and combayai style on the Islands, but grown up men in more "prominent" tourist areas, manage to dress okay and not look dead poor. 

 

 

Motorbikes cutting in front of you after you've looked both ways and think it's safe to cross the street.

Air pollution

Food poisoning

Unhealthy food

water dripping everywhere

Muscled up farangs who think I give a damn about their eye candy Thai girls.

Thai Masseuses who try to crack my neck

 

But it's still fun, I generally like Thai people and it's cheap to live here.

 

Ordering at restaurants and getting your main course first and then when your finished you receive your appetizers.

If I dress more nicely will that stop the streets of Bangkok from smelling like shìt and clean up all the discarded cooking oil? Will it increase wages for the downtrodden serfs and increase the price that rice farmers can get for their crops? Will it mean less annoying white-skinnd hi-sos in ads and on the telly? Yeah, didn't think so. I could go on but you get the picture.

You mean you dress for the circumstances and environment. Gotcha.

 

At the farm I dress same many of those I see who heading out for a good night, so I also indeed dress for the environment I am at the moment
