I need a plastic pellet gun for troublesome dogs.   Does anyone know if there is a shop that sells them in Buriram, Khon Kaen, or Korat.

I believe there is a supplier in China town in Bangkok but i never get down to Bangkok.

I would appreciate any help.

Thank you,   Don.

I'd suggest you rethink your plan because Airsoft guns are legal- with plastic pellets.

Shooting critters with them isn't legal.  And your neighbors may rat you out...  And then we'll be reading about you here on AN.  And some of these guys' posts aren't very nice.

I thought that one or two bursts  with the plastic pellets would be enough to keep the dogs out of my place without doing any actual harm,  only the stinging sensation of the pellets hitting them.

I take your point though,  thank you.

Are they getting into your house or do you have an unfenced yard/garden?

They are not getting into the house, security there is OK.   They are coming onto the block at the bottom end which is partly like a swamp in the wet season.   There are posts with barbed wire but that only keeps oy the buffalo.

If i can't use a pellet gun it looks like i will have spend a lot more money building a secure fence.

I use a catapult (slingshot) with clay balls for ammunition on a black cat that thinks it lives around the house during the day, The catapult is not that accurate but it only cost 50 thb. The clay balls were about 1 baht each.

Here dogs have more rights than humans (like cows in India). As for pellet guns, back home we used to play with them in the 60s. Maybe in a couple hundred years they will catch up with the rest of the world. All in due time...all in due time...

Don't waste your time with those airsoft guns,  they are useless against anything bigger than a gecko, and even geckos  give a wry smile when they see you brandishing. Get a decent slug gun or even a catapult, in fact, you would be better off throwing a rock at them.

If you have a problem with them on your property, get a bag of those "Cherry Bomb" type bangers (fireworks) and lob one of them at them, you will probably have to spend some time cleaning up dog or cat turds as they seem to <deleted> themselves.

I use an airsoft gun to chase off pigeons and cats. It works well. Even if I don't hit them, the noise scares them away. Many dealers throughout Thailand including online mail order. Check your LINE app.

Show me on the doll where the cat hurt you.

That's a good way to get arrested.  If I saw you shooting a dog with a pellet gun I'd report you to the cops myself. Don't do it.

Sounds like a better idea, can I suggest electric fence? They learn quick to stay away. My dogs will not go close to the fence anymore after a few shocks. Cheap, and easy to put up 25 cm from ground 3 or 4 levels should be enough

Just last week, some idiot in my village aimed a slingshot at my guard dog. He now has a nasty bite wound, and after I refused any compensation and he became abusive, the police summoned him for an interview next week regarding animal cruelty!

Your rational may make sense to you but not to a dog or cat owner who sees you shooting at their animals.

I think a catapult is VERY DIFFERENT than a slingshot.

Catapults have a wood or metal frame to which elastic is attached.  The elastic can be industrial strength,  firing ball bearing with the force of bullets, (think of the ball bearings in pinball machines).

I think of slingshots as having no frame and the velocity of the projectile  relies on the speed it is rotated at.

The most famous use of a slingshot was in the Bible when Goliath was felled by  a slingshot used by David.

Where can you buy a slug gun in Thailand?

Just hit them in the flank when no-one is watching.

Problem solved.

Try an Uzi - much better and more effective, I should think.
