Obama got it for nothing, started 6 wars, droned 100,000s of civilians, dropped more bombs than any previous President and deported millions more too

How dare you invoke Obama the savior of the left, he has full exemptions of any and all criticisms.

Greta Thunberg's a shoo it.

Why would Greta get it? Is it for being arrested multiple times or is it because she is not Donald Trump?

Has he ended the war between Israel and Gaza No, has he ended the war between Russia and the Ukraine No, has he ended all the waring factions in the middle East No. So why does he deserve a obel Peace Prize. ?

And Starmer gave Trump an invite from the king for a UK state visit.

Empty platitudes to the most powerful man child in the world from a couple of inadequate and unpopular leaders.

Yassar Arafat got the Nobel Peace prize.

Nobels for science mean something, the Peace Prize not so much.

Nobel for Literature, well they got it right when the gave it to Dylan, someone who people have actually listened to his songs. But mostly they give it to authors that few people read.

The nomination for the peace prize originated with Pakistan.Trump  kept India and Pakistan from going to war.

Netanyahu's actions take into account the Abraham accords that saw a normalization between Israel and several  Gulf arab states. Now Lebanon and Syria are  considering participation too.

Had it not been for Hamas attack on Israel, Saudi Arabia and others would have signed onto the Abraham accord. Hamas has slowed that process. If there is peace in the middle east it will be because of Trump.

Trump has been nominated by several entities including Pakistan who say he prevented an all-out war with India.

The Nobel committee knows they made a mistake giving the prize to Obama. As far as I'm concerned he only got the prize because the committee members wanted to meet him.

On the other hand, left to the committee, Trump will never receive the Nobel Peace prize.

However, again - there's talk of Lebanon and Syria recognising Israels right to exist under Trump's Abraham Accords.  Any fair minded person knows that would be a monumental achievement in Middle East politics. There's also rumours of Saudi Arabia joining the Accord.

If that happens and the Nobel committee doesn't give the prize to Trump, the prize will forever be deemed worthless.

Donald Trump's nomination for the 2026 Nobel Peace Prize is neither as surprising nor odd as some BMs seem to feel.  Every year the names of several hundred individuals and organizations are submitted to the five-member Norwegian Nobel Committee as candidates  for the Nobel Peace Prize.  In 2025, no less than the nominations of 244 individuals and 94 organizations were registered as valid nominations.

Thousands of individuals all over the world can make nominations for the Nobel Peace Prize,  so it's no wonder some strange suggestions could show up.  I'd bet my 401K that some idiot, somewhere, has nominated Hamas and Hezbollah  for the Peace Prize.   Information about nominees and nominators is kept secret for 50 years and then only released on a very selective basis.  We know about Trump's nomination because his nominator, the government of Pakistan, chose to make it public.

And if the governments of India and Pakistan both acknowledge Trump played a crucial role in preventing a war between those two countries, then he should win it.  Alfred Nobel's will states the Peace Prize should go to "the person who shall have done the most or the best work for fraternity between nations."   https://www.nobelpeacecenter.org/en/the-last-will-of-alfred-nobel

However many disagree with Trump's  policies on the wars in Gaza, Iran and the Ukraine,  he still made the biggest contribution of the year to world peace.  Does anyone believe there's  of a individual or group who has done something more significant than  preventing war between two large and countries which have always hated each other?

You can read more about the nomination and selection process on the official  Web site of the Nobel Peace Prize.

https://www.nobelprize.org/nomination/peace/

The criteria for nominators is broad and could include thousands, maybe tens of thousands, of people.   https://www.nobelpeaceprize.org/nobel-peace-prize/nomination/criteria-for-nominators

Netanyahu nominating Trump for the Nobel Peace prize is akin to Putin nominating his arms supplier. 😂

Netanyahu is nominating his arms supplier!

That said I have no particular political, philosophical or moral objection to the USA supplying arms to Israel.

The Saudis won't sign up to normalisation with Israel until there is a peace accord in Gaza, preferably a 2 state solution.

And Netanyahu will never agree to that. He is the obstacle to peace in Gaza

Hitler was not an official nominee.

In 1939, Erik Gottfrid Christian Brandt, Social Democrat Member of the Swedish parliament and an anti facist, submitted  Hitler's nomination. It was intended to be a satiric indictment of the process and an insult to Neville Chamberlain, who had negotiated the Munich Accord and who was nominated for the prize. The nomination was not sincere, nor intended to be taken seriously. Brandt withdrew the nomination.
