Do you feel more sympathy with this idiotic scumbag , than the victim?

Can't believe it.

I never, ever feel any "sorry" for that thing tat played a senseless dangerous game at someone else's experience.

Anything and everything that would happen to this first world trash, all self-inflicted.

definitely for the lady that lost her life. RIP

the lad was stupid and wreckless and will pay dear for his mistake

Not victim blaming in any way but it would be good to know if she was wearing a helmet.

  • This reads like it's  harsher penalties for Farang and less so for Thai?. so if i Thai rider kills a Foreigner / Tourist  & pleads " no have money" for compensation then its ok..

  • With the ladys death his bail will most likely be revoked and he will be locked up until a whole lot of money is payed to the girls family.....I certainly hope his family is well off....If not....He i

Obviously not rich enough but if they're rich and well known in the city easy for them to get away with murder driving drunk or otherwise. It's been on the news chiang Mai driving intoxicated no tax no insurance killed two people on the motorbike. Because they pulled out but he was driving 100 miles an hour

According to reports, even Red Bull family had to pay off the victims family. I have no idea if it’s true, but I would guess that it is.

Ideally, behind bars for good.

Drop dead painfully and rot away in the hellish stockade.

As the wage for groundlessly   killing the innocent.

I would have no problem with that.

So free then to recommit charges but now someone dies.

Well done RTP.

Think they added the murderer charge after she passed away, as she didn't die on scene

If your stop light stops working while you are riding, how are you supposed to know?

So you drive around for the next couple of years with no stop lights?? One foot on the brake while standing so you can check it, makes your arguement unacceptable..

Even though he was stupid, I still feel bad for the guy...He was not trying to kill the girl....

Clearly he was not trying to kill the young lady and nor did the lady suspect he is a total moron trying to impress her with I suspect doing wheelies, but he deserves what he gets. As far as feeling sorry for him, you must be joking ? I don't I feel sorry for him but the young girl that is now dead because of this idiot.

Thanks for that....I felt it best not to respond to whom you addressed in this post.

I'm sick of being banned.

From what I have read on this thread there must be a lot of poms here. They stand up for the moron young idiot who killed a young Thai girl, who lets face it, wanted to make money out of this pom moron so as to send money to her poor parents most likely. Yet you poms show little or no feelings towards her death and who caused it!. Bow your heads in shame.

Nonsense.  There is a huge difference between causing death by reckless driving and murder.

There is a difference, but not a huge one.

When a poster is accusing someone of murder in the case of an accident (however stupid) there is a huge difference.

Yeah, we have our fair share of idiots as well. Not as well represented as your part of the world, though. In general, maybe you read about 1 every 2 months, maybe 1 per month, as compared to minimum 1-2 every week. However, I react on that too, and condemn their actions, every time I see it in the news, as opposite many other posters here that have great difficulties to see anything bad with people from their own nationality.

Yet you didn’t react to, or condemn, the Swedish drug dealer in the link I shared.

Anyway, my point isn’t that people from the UK are uniquely prone to foolish behaviour. Of course, plenty of Brits make dumb decisions abroad – most countries are represented by idiots.

The disproportionate impression we see largely stems from various factors: sheer numbers and the way incidents are reported.

The UK sends far more tourists to Thailand than many other nations, and English-language media – both local and international – are naturally more likely to highlight stories involving British nationals particularly Tabloid-esque sensationalism and Social media amplification.

The result is a skewed picture, as though Brits are disproportionately reckless or criminal when, in reality, they are simply overrepresented in the reporting.

On top of that, once these stories circulate, they are often reduced to simplistic, lazy stereotypes. Oversimplification, selective emphasis, and even a touch of xenophobia all combine to create a caricature: “the troublesome Brit abroad”.

It is this distortion – this eagerness to draw broad, bigoted generalisations from isolated cases – which is rather moronic...  and often equally as dim as the individuals who act foolishly

I disagree, what this a$$hole did was as bad as committing murder but not premeditated murder as when he started doing his wheelies he was not saying to himself I'm going to try and kill someone.

Going by the reports in this topic, there is not a huge difference between murder and committing murder.

Ultimately, one aspect is an emotive discussion, the other is legal....   An emotional response wants to escalate this to 'murder'... but its not.

According to the Thai Criminal Code the key factor is the offender’s state of mind (intent vs. negligence) and the nature of their actions.

Murder (Section 288-289)

Intentional, premeditated, or cruel.

Planned killing, torture, or killing an official.

Penalty: 15–20 years (Death if aggravated).

Manslaughter (Section 290)

Unintentional, inflicting injury.

Assault gone wrong leading to death

Penalty: 3–15 years (up to 20 if aggravated)

Negligent Homicide (Section 291)

Negligent/unintentional conduct.

Reckless driving causing death (e.g. speeding)

Penalty: Up to 10 years or fine

There is also the Land Traffic Act – Section 291

Reckless Driving Causing Death

Land Traffic Act 291 (amended 2017)

Reckless driving, dangerous to the public

Drunk driving, speeding, racing, running red lights

Penalty: 3–10 years + fine 60,000–200,000 baht

Thus: If 'proven' to be riding recklessly - then the Land Traffic Act would secure a 3-10 year penalty - in this case more severe than the Negligent homicide charge (or more of a guaranteed jail term) - where motor-vehicles are concerned Manslaughter is too much of a stretch in Thailand.

Regardless, from a legal stand point - none of this can be considered murder.

I posted the ones I see, right? Mean I must have missed that one, as I sometimes miss stories about UK guys too.

What you managed to do in the rest or your reply was just to blame media for making people see how bad Brits behave. Deflection! How would it just be if they took a hard look at themselves. Just maybe we can get down the numbers.

Sure! I think we end it here. You are just that kind of guy. Always pissing against the wind.

The British lad has now been named....22 years of age from Doncaster...previously done time for drug dealing as an 18 year old.....no drugs/alcohol in his system at the time of the accident according to the police here.....he`s looking at a 10 year sentence :whistling:

There is a massive difference between murder and vehicular manslaughter !

2 other easy alternatives.

You can ask somebody to check it. Alternatively, wait until it gets dark, turn the ignition on, tread on the brake pedal, and the brake light should come on.
