Is it noisy in Pattaya now?

Featured Replies

Folk go to Pattaya and ask if it’ll be noisy lol? 😂

Tell you what, I’d sooner put up with noisy kids and people having fun than whinging Boomers.

What's the current noise level in Central London?

You limies hate AC, so you got to keep your windows open while drunk Scouzers seranade you after they tumble out of the pubs at closing time

I'd imagine it's no worse than that

NEXT! 😄

I know a lot of forum members here don't actually live in Thailand or even Pattaya,

but for those expats who live in condominiums what's the current noise level like with all the families and single young drunken men coming over for their 2 week xmas holiday?

I couldn't imagine living somewhere like the bigger condominiums which are host to AIRBNB at this time only to have screaming kids running around or pool side drunken parties at night by John and his mates from Australia where part of the fun is smashing the deck chairs and smashing bottles at 2am near the pool

They don't care they're only in your building for 2 weeks,

No thanks I don't know how you expats put up with that in your building especially at this time of year by drunken visiting farangs paying your strata / body corporate fees if your an owner

I recall the big condominium in central Pattaya ,banning Airbnb this year by using fingerprints

Yep, it is. Just read about and listened to a brawl on video. They were screaming like pigs.

Have you considered the dark side, Soi Khaotalo. No tourists.

Only expats, bars and lady bars at the top of the hill.

It's like a small village but with everything except tourists.

No songtheaw but a bolt ride to walking street is 100 baht.

Stayed at B Space Residence for three months when I moved to Pattaya.

It's so quiet I could not sleep, now live beside Sai3/klang noisy, once per month there's a Thai Market/concert outside my 12 floor condo, but used to it after 4 years.(20 years total as expat in Thailand)

Oh don't be an old pedo

location, location, location. you need to pick a hotel on the small sois to avoid the traffic noise, but that then means youre not gonna have song taew anywhere near,

so either hire bike taxi, buy a bike, or walk

Another ignorant post. I lived in a 5-level condo (5 units) next to the park (Pratumnak) and in Cosy Beach for nearly 20 years, less than 1km from Walking Street. All I heard year-round were birds chirping, the occasional bat at night, and tokay geckos. Have you even been to Pattaya? There are endless quiet areas to live in, and even close to the busy tourist areas.

Can't believe you would post something so asinine, especially not knowing the poster.   I, myself, have been here 15 years.  That doesn't mean I didnt have a job, didn't want to work, and was lazy.   In my case, I worked very hard, including for a number of years working two jobs.  I did not live above my means during my working career, and still don't.

Although my income from the two jobs was not large, I did one smart thing, using what I was paying for rent to buy my first condo, which I fixed up in my free time--third job--and sold at a profit.  That led to a second career doing condo renovations while I lived in each condo, and continued to work my regular jobs.

By working hard, I could afford to take my pension in my early 50s, after 30 years at my job, work another 5 years part-time, and then move to Thailand at age 59.   My 15 years in Thailand have been very active, very interesting, and very satisfying.   That's my story; everyone living here in Thailand has one.

Most stories, like mine, will likely not involve being lazy and job-less during their working careers.  Some, like mine will likely involve managing their working careers well enough so they could retire in their 50s and be living in Thailand for 10, 15, 20 years, or more.  Maybe think a bit before posting something nasty and uncalled for about a fellow poster.

"Too cheap"

Spending all your money on drinking tends to leave little left for proper climate control, doesn't it?

Nothing like you a failure as a father who admits to having a 45yo drug affected son back in the UK

He must be on drugs because of you .."oh dad is in Thailand married to a ex prostitute he tells everyone...not that we seen him when were kids anyway ,he was never around !

Poor son in a cloud of smoke because of your failures as a father

Are the grandkids in trouble with the police too?

Tell me ...did you bash your ex wife back in those days?

A failure of a father

And yet another ignorant post, even more ignorant than the first. I thought we were discussing Pattaya, not what work expats do, or how they obtain funds to live there.

I'm staying at the base. My floor is empty except for two other units as best i can tell. Very quiet here. There are signs posted saying saying stays of less than. 30 days are prohibited and are against thailand law.  Of course if one stops at the rental office you are told no units a available

I stayed 6 nights at the hard rock it was not very busy there, which doesn't surprise me as the off the street prices are high.

No, you don't 'know what' I am 'up to'.   You don't know me.   Just as you don't know the other poster you called lazy.   I will say that I don't spend my days watching people in their condos when they leave their doors open and then posting comments about them on AN.   If you have 'nearly a million dollars', don't you have anything better to do with your time?   I sure do.

I am surprised you have lived as long as you have.

Here are a few points so you get your sad rants correct.

I am Australian, born in Bondi Junction and spent my childhood split between there and a property in Hay, NSW

My son is happy and runs a successful plumbing business

As for my ex, we split up due to my work driving interstate for too many years, we were still good mates up till her passing.

As for my current wife if she heard you refer to her as a prostitute, how can I say this politely, you would prefer 100 monkeys punching the crap out of you, and I believe my son may be there to help dig the hole after

So next time you wish to trash me go ahead, I enjoy a good laugh

In Pattaya I don't know, but in my place it seems there is more noise every year.. In a nearby  temple about 1,5km away it seems they have daily parties or activities since the Queen passed away. and although the government asked to make low noise the noise is louder than usual. Also for driving around cars with advertisings and announcements... and the neighbourhood... I suppose they are all deaf as most of the time we can literally hear what they are talking about or quarrel about.. It will not be different with the holidays

Oh wow

I used to love being a NSW RTA inspector in the 90's , probably before your time, down in Wagga area

Apart from giving the thong wearing smelly bearded truck drivers infringements I used to love putting my purple light on above and flashing my purple light , as I sing purple rain purple rain

Log book please driver !

Purple rain purple rain

I used to love it

Now of course I'm glad the Indian truck drivers have moved on to take over ,we need diversity

Are you suffering from some serious mental issues after being hit by a monkey, or are you just retarded from birth.

Your verbal diarrhea appears to have no ending

And thanks for reporting me when I called you a little boy

Juristic bans non urgent maintenance in the tourist season, so my condo, in a large block in Jomtien, is quieter than normal, with none of that incessant drilling. Few more Russians about, probably short term renters, but no problems with them, seem decent people.  No screaming kids or noisy parties at the pool. Way quieter than my apartment in Australia.

Same here.  Of course it depends a lot which condo you are at and how good the management is.  I would imagine a place like The Base, which seems to target short term tourists, would be a zoo this time of year.

Also, a lot of us lead very quiet lives.  I don't drink or go to bars and have zero interest in the nightlife.  Usually up before dawn, go for a walk, and do all my grocery shopping before most wake up.  Not too hot and not much traffic that time of day. That is a side of Pattaya most tourists never see.

Yeah rarely do I go to a bar or the like.

Am an early riser, Often head out to the lake before sunrise to ride a few laps on the bike before grabbing breakfast and heading to wrok.
