Foreign men attack Phuket taxi driver over fare dispute - video
Both sides are in the wrong. Entitled passengers should have had the cash or not got in the cab. Taxi guy should have mentioned there was a further fee. I doubt they struck him because he was being overly polite. Argument escalated. There seems to be a real us vs them vibe in the media in the last few years. Magnified by social media. -

Thai gov. to tax (remitted) income from abroad for tax residents starting 2024 - Part II
To add to oldcpu's reply - look at the hoops any foreigner needs to go through to gain permanent residence in UK, then try taking the UK permanent residence written test and see how you get on. Pretty sure most UK expats would fail. PH -

Building a house in Thailand
No need to hire an architect. Your local land office holds many house plans on file. They should allow you to browse through them until you find one you like and for a small fee you can have a copy made. When it comes to construction some leeway is allowed in the design and it does not have to be exactly the same. You can change some details as long as the finished house does not exceed the originals dimensions by too much. To find a builder, talk to locals for recommendations. Drive around the area and see if there are any homes that look well built and structurally sound. You could then ask the owner politely for the builders phone number. There is a dedicated forum to building houses in Thailand. I would say it is a must read for anyone considering a build as it covers everything you need to know including plumbing ,electrics , legality etc. I can't post the link here as it is against forum rules but if you PM me I will send you the link. Good luck wish it. Phitsanulok is a nice city with all amenities. -

Seeking Tips for a 2-Month Trip to Southern Thailand, Starting in Hat Yai
I was in that area a long time ago, so maybe the following is not up to date. That far south of Thailand is not really Thailand. You can read about the history of Pattani, Yala, and Narathiwat to get an idea about them. There are people out there who want to separate from Thailand - since decades. When I was there nobody wanted to travel in the dark because of the risk of attacks. If any of this is new to you then better check again where you want to go. -

Thai Driver’s License Expiring Soon – Visa Options?
Thanks, mate! I really appreciate the valuable information. I’m currently staying in Mukdahan, right across the border, with my girlfriend. I wouldn’t mind spending a few days or even weeks in Laos—I’ve got friends there and a bike to get around. I’ll try renewing my driving license with the tourist visa, and if that doesn’t work, I’ll just pay for the one-year option. That’s life, I guess! Thanks again for all your help; this website is an absolute gem—way better than Facebook. Cheers! 🙏- 1

Mor Lam dancer sexually assaulted and pulled off stage in Isaan
Well it is obvious that he thought that he was in a go go bar in Nana Plaza where you can just pick a girl off the stage and she's yours for the night. -
