Can we draw an end to this bickering now please.   The rules are quite clear in respect of the State Pension, if you reside in the UK, or a few other countries, your State Pension will be up

If people have contributed to their pension all their working life, they are entitled to the annual state pension increases, not to give them this is theft, no ifs or buts, the UK government are cheat

And introduced the ridiculously awkward and costly procedures which we Brits living in Thailand have since been required to endure at passport renewal time.

Back on topic, weren't this pair also responsible for inflicting the Life Certificate nonsense on us in a particularly awkward manner, in the case of the relative pittances (when compared to occupational pensions) of our perpetually-frozen State Pensions, to add insult to injury?

I wonder how many here with a uk address will get the 300 pound heating benifit on top of their 10% rise, lucky boys

Wonder how many will get the rise, lucky them ,looks like its going to be a nice one,

I'm doing an ongoing cost benefit analysis, at some stage the Phillipines is gonna look very attractive. At the moment, cos of my long residence here, I get stuff very cheap, it doesn't make sense to relocate. That may change. My UK State pension constitutes about a third of my total pension. The problem is my committments: a woman, dogs, a pick-up,, all the usual stuff. I would really like to end my days here, whether life will allow, we 'll see.

I know that feeling very well.

My state pension is about 28% and will die with me. However my wife will get a % of my military pension and a % of my company pensions until she dies. After that my son gets the lot but the pensions die with my wife.

although my pension dies with me ,my wife will have no problems thank goodness and our son  runs a company so very well paid ,

Sunak has refused to confirm he will honor the Triple Lock.

My bet is there will be talk of ‘sharing the pain’.

Seems another batch of Life Certificates is enroute, obviously not to those who use their, or someone else’s, UK address.

Could you provide a little more info please?

Have you or a friend received one?

A friend of mine received one yesterday, as the mail delivery in my area is very hit and miss, I received no mail since September, I called DWP who confirmed that I'd been sent one three or four weeks ago, she offered to send my another by email.

Doesn't your wife get a % of your State pension?

Sadly, no she doesn't.

If we had lived in the UK and she had pais contributions she would have had one in  her own right.

My pension is in my name only and as such it dies with me.

Thanks for the clarification. I don't know why they don't send the life form by email in the first place. Can anyone confirm that this is the current life form please?

State Pension Life Form.pdf

Mutt, that is the current life form.

I started receiving my pension last May and have just received the life form.

What was the date of the covering DWP letter in your case, please, and is the deadline for the receipt of witnessed Life Certificates at the DWP end 16 weeks from this date (which I suspect will be common to all of us here in LOS who are about to be placed in the firing line)?

Also worth noting that, in addition to the hit-and-miss postal service being experienced by some us locally here in LOS, there is considerable disruption at the UK end at the present time as a result of postal workers' strikes (which do, however, seem to be on hold at least for the time being pending the outcome of negotiations between Royal Mail and the CWU) and the Royal Mail cyber attack (which is continuing to have a negative impact on their international services). DWP really could not have picked a worse time to inflict this particular piece of bureaucratic nonsense on us, I think!

This link is now saying that there is to be a 24-hour strike of postal workers between 12:30 on 16 Feb and 12:30 on 17 Feb!

Letter was dated 8 January, received 1st February.

Yes, deadline is 16 weeks from this date.

Thanks for that Info will ask them if they have sent me one because my pension has been stopped twice before.

Both times never got the one they said was sent only the second one.

I always email them with a copy of the completed LC form that has been sent off in the post, just in case.....????
