Details on a Covid-19 vaccine soon, Anutin promises

Details of a Covid-19 vaccine should be available in three months, Public Health Minister Anutin Charnvirakul said on Wednesday (April 22).

 

He was speaking after holding a meeting with the National Vaccine Institute during which a blueprint to develop the vaccine was proposed and approved.

 

He said relevant agencies will contact both local and international institutions to sign a memorandum of understanding related to the Covid-19 vaccine in a move to ensure that Thailand gets access to the serum at the same time as other countries.

 

“The virus will be disabled once its vaccine is developed. Every department needs to work on this and hopefully Thailand can be a leader in the vaccine development. This matter will become clearer in three months, but more time will be required to make the vaccine truly effective,” Anutin said.

If it comes too soon it could be the most dangerous vaccine ever created, without proper vetting and time.

Vaccin Price for Locals already set for 0,50 bht a shot while for expats its only 750,000 Bht !!

He followed up by saying that this would not be available to filthy dirty Westerners in country who were responsible for the Chinese virus whilst flinging open the doors to his cousins. ????

They are developing vaccines all over the world, by the way.

Not to take away from thailand but they really aren't doing anything special here.  Everyone's foot is to the floor.

Wow that sounds like Thailand's developing the vaccine, a massive undertaking. The first human coronavirus vaccine ever created, a giant leap forward for science around the world and it's coming from Thailand.

Hold on a minute, surely he who creates the vaccine determines who gets it first?

 

Either I read this wrong or Anutin is going to simply wait for the dirty foreigners to do all the work and then demand to be at the front of the queue when 'we, the unwashed' eventually sell it to them ????

 

Announcing this memorandum of understanding prior to talking to the 'international institutions' involved is surely a big mistake?

Could they just put Anutin back in lockdown and get Dr. Plipat back. While at it, let him run the ministry.
