Only one bar in Buakhao doing that price as far as I know. And due to current regs if two of you go in you have to sit at separate tables. That's if there are any empty tables.

If you are referring to the one a couple of doors from Hungry Hippo its the only one I know. Don't know the name and as I don't live in Pattaya, haven't been since March.

A few places around me at that price but not what you would call bars, but then I never said bars.

I was using the word bar loosely, here any room or area with a few tables where alcohol is sold counts as a bar.

Or are you comparing an up-country shop price with a bar price.?

No I live near Chonburi and most usual venue for a beer is the JJ market at Bang Saen. They a few seating areas where drinks are sold. Packed out when we went Sunday, if not for the masks would have been like normal.

I find Heinekin to be better than Leo, not bad. I'll take your word for how reindeer urine tastes.

That is cheap. I have to say there is a fine line between a cheap Charlie, a skin flint and a tight a--e. The owner must be giving it away.

I am all for competition but expecting things for free seems to be the expectation for some people.

Perhaps it is stale beer?

I'm sorry, I was to lazy to write THAILAND. There...

LOS is the favoured abbreviation.... for the price of that beer there should have been dancing girls!

A big place with some upmarket hotels. 175B is not as much as one would pay at, say, Poseiden in Bangkok.

But hotels do serve alcohol on dry" days so maybe occasionally 175B is OK.

Interesting business model.

44 baht beer.

Lady Drinks 250 baht.

Bar Fine 1500 baht.

The place will be rammed, but still run at a loss.  Very common here.

The only one making a profit is the Thai landlord, as long as he has a tenant.

The profit on a 44 baht beer is not 44 baht  maybe 4-7 baht profit per bottle.

Better making something than nothing! Sell 100 beers at 44 or sell 10 beers at 60 or more? The bills are still there, might as well make something, you can always get more beer, you can't always get more customers!
