GOOD MAN, GET RID OF THE SCUMS WHO LIVE THERE FIRST, THEN  do pay a visit to those places mentioned before you make such a statement.

Obviously you have not visited Miami,Dubai yet.

Awesome comment by the mayor and always a priceless source of entertainment.

Anyways i still do believe Pattaya has huge potential IF the government finally legalizes gambling.

Casinos will be a perfect fit and just like in Singapore the whole gambling indusrty can be regulated to fleece only foreigners and protect locals from losing all their money.

For this to happen Thailand has to start and treat tourist correctly and not looked upon as people to rip-off at every turn, also provide clear footpaths and safe roads instead of allowing three or four drunken Thai's speeding around town and going which ever way they want along one-way roads as is the norm now. I could go on but the list is endless - Nice dream but that is all it is .........!!!

Save you breath, it won't change, it's too ingrained!

Somebody is living in La La Land.

New Normal Neo-Pattaya will become a Potemkin Village whose charade of splendor will simply cover up the underlying rot.  It's takes capital to create a Miami, or Singapore, or Dubai all which were build on solid underlying infrastructures and economic bases.  None of which Pattaya has ever had nor ever will have.

Like they said.  Get over the economic reliance on foreigners.  New Normal tourism will be a shell of its former self, and the few Thais capable of understanding reality know it.

So some ministers and mayors were at a soapy massage place a few nights ago.  A wager was made. Who could say the most outrageous press release and get it into print first. We have a winner. That billionaire former construction worker who dress like a doctor and runs the health ministry was a very close second with his latest fast track COVID vaccination plan. Well played.

If they could only start with cleaning the sewage water, before leading it directly out on the beach.

How can you call it a 'plan'? There is no plan, just an empty statement of lies about intent. How can you clean up Pattaya without cleaning up the police? Or the army? Or the government there?

Pattaya Mayor Sonthaya Khunplume has revealed ambitious plans to transform the resort into a truly world class tourist destination, on a par with the likes of Dubai, Singapore and Miami.

Speaking to Sophon Cable TV on Tuesday, Mr Sonthaya said that the project to develop the resort (dubbed Neo Pattaya) will play an important role in the Eastern Economic Corridor, which aims to spur business, investment and development throughout the eastern seaboard.

When tourism finally resumes, more quality tourists, generating even more income will visit the resort, Mr Sonthaya predicted.

Eventually, Pattaya will become not only a better place for tourists, but will be much improved for people living and working in the city.

The mayor cited Singapore, Dubai and Miami as examples for Pattaya to follow in its bid to become a world class resort, which eventually would include an exciting nightlife, lots of activities for families and a diverse economy.

The mayor added that Old Town Naklua, Koh Larn, Bali Hai Pier, Khao Thap Phraya, Pattaya Beach Walk and Jomtien Beach have all been earmarked for redevelopment, in addition to the upgrades planned for Walking Street.

The news comes as local officials and business leaders, including the mayor himself, were told Pattaya must end its reliance on foreign tourism.

I won't deny there is potential. Even possibility. But it won't happen. Not even in the shadow of reality. Not under these delusional clowns who can never see the bigger picture beyond just foreigners vs. locals, quality tourists (whatever the hell that means) and quick cash.
