Health officials on Friday reported another positive COVID-19 case involving a foreigner in Hua Hin.

The 49 year old man, who is understood to be a Dutch national, tested positive for the virus after taking a routine test prior to him travelling back to his home country.

Health officials said the man wasn’t displaying any symptoms and described the case as asymptomatic.

The man is understood to have arrived in Thailand earlier this month and tested negative after leaving mandatory quarantine on Feb 8.

On Feb 11 he travelled to Hua Hin where remained for more than one week, visiting a number of locations in the area including Villa Market, Index Living Mall, Airspace coffee shop in Khao Takiab, Blu Port and Cha Am Outlet.

Thaivisa understands all the locations visited by the man have undergone intense cleaning.

The case is the second in as many weeks involving an expat in Hua Hin.

Earlier this month, a British man who had spent time in Hua Hin after visiting Phuket,  also  tested positive when taking a test before he was due to return to the UK.

Health officials maintain the risk of infection to others remains small, but anyone who visited the locations at the same time as the infected man and who has developed symptoms such as a fever, running nose, cough or a general feeling of being unwell, is urged to take a COVID-19 test at a local hospital.

see them all the time maskless and clueless, doesn't surprise me a bit..

Apparently covid can exit the body via ones rear end  maybe he caught it when some passed wind and wasn't wearing undies?

Missing the point, he caught it from someone who is walking around with the virus, it didn't just land on him from nowhere, the virus is still circulating and he is unlikely to be the only one who has been infected from that person.

I'm sure he caught it from a migrant worker probably Burmese.

My goodness. What a boring live. A driver for his children. And now it will get even more boring. At least on the weekend he has two days off. But what is unclear is on February 24th he went at 15:20 to the hospital. So who picked up the children at 15:30? Didn't want to ask where HE got Corona...

So thats it then, a mass test of 15 people. That'll do it. Nothing to see here..........................

so he was visiting his family for less then 3 weeks and got virus from his kids.

already wasted 15 days in quarantine and now up to 2 weeks in hospital.

and most probably he will have to do 2 weeks quarantine in denmark.

not worth

Jeez, his kids were tested and were negative. He is Dutch, so why should he go to Denmark?

I understand missing your family but don't get the travelling in a pandemic, perhaps he'll be fortunate and not be the cause of death of someone else. I imagine that never entered his head for he was concerned about him and his, and to hell with anyone else..

but he was cleared after quarantine so he got infected in Thailand - well unless it was a false negative - which they don't clarify!
