Sandbox news. A constant source of fun. Gives me a good laugh.

Was in the 50s when a couple checking in at a hotel (in Germany) had to proof marriage?

Or was it before WW2?

Not sure.

Only proves that Covid is being used as a chance to stop all those nasty sex tourists.  Only clean living families are wanted in Thailand

Right... good news for the massage joints or do they have no "curtain motels" on the island?

So all those single men looking to go there for a bit of fun should now cancel LOL TIT .

Maybe a booming business for any short time places for those unable to cancel their trip .

Maybe a good year for them to find an Island with less entry hassles maybe in the EU are there no women to pick up on Reunion, Ibiza, Mykonos, Azores? Or maybe not in the right price range?????

Doubles the price of the holiday if you have to book two rooms. One each for you and your partner.

If this turns out to be true, then what's the point of coming to Thailand? For Europeans, might as well head to the beaches of Spain, Portugal, Greece or one of the other mediterranean countries that are open. Shorter flight, cheaper, and less restrictions.  Weather is likely to be better than Phuket in July and August as well.

And cheaper hookers these days and real women......????

Maybe the hotels could offer a "special Tuk/Tuk wedding package"  Your driver not only takes you to your room, but officiates the ceremony.

Thai Tuk Tuk for your wedding anyone? #wedding #weddingtuktuk #weddingtransport #bellamaybridal | Summer wedding ceremony, Bridal dresses, Luxury wedding dress

Does he join in the wedding night bedding nuptials as well?

Amazing Thailand!....indeed.

They still give me and the wife dirty looks now.........Germans are not big fans of mixed race marriages.

Wonder... is the Government's adviser from Saudi Arabia by any chance?

All puritans I believe, but it's okay because they do not practice what they preach either.

There is a definite undercurrent.........loved Germany and loved living there and 99% of the people you meet, at a personal level, are very nice ..........but!!!!

For Brits the Carribean has been added to the Green List, also Malta and the Balearic Islands, as well as Bermuda. So if I was in the UK I certainly would be looking at a Green Area and not an Amber one, also less restrictions in those areas.

So all the young guys who maybe planned to go to Thailand for a bit of fun, will be really happy, not!!!!

Keep in mind that Brits already have had two false starts when Spain and more recently Portugal had their green status revoked by the UK circus government circus. This sent hundreds scuttling back home early to avoid being locked up on their return. Those hastily rearranged flights were what, maybe two or three hours maximum? Any Brit thinking about popping over to Bermuda or the Cayman's better pack for a long stay, possibly in transit quarantine in a third country as they try to find their way back home. How can anyone relax on beach when the door to home can be arbitrarily slammed shut while you laze on a beach?

Stay home. You know it makes sense.

Thai media has reported that hotels in Phuket under the SHA+ scheme will not allow foreigners who are not legally married to their wives to stay together.

That's more likely to impact some Hi-So Somchai and his mia-noi as opposed to a farang.

How?   "Hiso Thais" [sic] and their mia nois aren't foreigners in Thailand.

What if you have a gay partner, discriminated against again as usual?

Relax, you'll get the same treatment as normal people unless you and he are married.

Read the OP, it was covered ("lover, sex partner").
