They're asking tourists to come and be tracked like wild animals while 70% of what they come for is closed.  All the while vaccinated tourists are far less dangerous than your indigenous population right now LOL. Command center?? How about taking all that command center money and using it for vax distribution?

I don't think it's an exaggeration. I have been living in Thailand for the past twenty years, and I have noticed a big difference in the Thai attitude towards farangs since the pandemic started. For example, I moved to a new location within Thailand during this China virus outbreak, and because I am not known by the locals in this area, I can't get a hair cut. Every shop I go to will either make an excuse why they can't cut my hair or simply wave me away before I even enter the shop to inquire. I have never had this sort of experience at any time before this stupid Chinese virus was unleashed upon the world. Funny thing is they welcome the Chinese with open arms. Go figure.

Will real "tourists" (555) coming to play in the sandbox risk being locked down somewhere if they don't pass all their tests? or even register a false positive? Would they risk that and further quarantines in their home country once or if they made it out of forced hospitalization.  Would a real "tourists" risk getting a positive test from the many Thais in the sandbox who may have had only the ineffective Chinese vaccine or only one dose or no dose at all? And pay all those bloated hotel prices for a rainy season “vacation”?

Quite an impressive command center, to monitor the arrival of 250 tourists per week. 

 

I guess they do not even comprehend how big a turnoff all of their hurdles are for international tourists. 

 

The way I see it, is that the foreign tourists are taking a far higher risk by coming here, than the locals are taking by being exposed to them. So, why all the restrictions? Where is the risk, when they have not only been fully vaccinated with the best vaccines on the market (which are not even available here), and tested multiple times?

 

The hurdles, limitations, and restrictions, amount to utter sabotage of the tourism industry. At a time when they are trying to restart it. Such hubris. Such a lack of understanding. Such a TCOKU (Thailand is the center of the known universe) attitude. Humility would have been expected by now, after enduring the economic pain they have inflicted upon themselves. 

 

And to compound the "sandbox idiocy", you have to factor in what the tourists are coming to. Phuket and Samui are devastated at the moment. So, really? Is that the best you got?

It may not arrive. I discovered a couple of years ago that my local postman couldn't be bothered to actually deliver the mail so he destroyed it. This went on for 18 months until, I guess, enough people were complaining about not receiving stuff they were expecting. As far as I know, nothing happened to him as he was close to retirement. In my native UK he would probably have been jailed.

Thailand has been using the cheapy Sinovac to jap its people with. After the first shot it's 3% effective. Only a fraction of the Thai people have had 2 jabs, ie  it's 50% effective.

 

And yet they are refusing admission to incoming foreign tourists who have been jabbed with the same vaccine, as it's deemed ineffective.

 

Speaks volumes about the government's confidence in its own vaccination program, doesn't it . . . or alternatively they simply don't give a s*** about their own people.
