PHUKET: Phuket officials have issued a comprehensive provincial order including all the key requirements and conditions for international tourists entering the province from July 1.

All the main criteria have already been well reported since the announcement by the Centre for COVID-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) last Friday (June 18).

However, the latest order issued includes many details not yet revealed and will be in effect from next Thursday, such as tourist arrivals must spend their first night at their hotel while waiting for the results of the COVID test taken at the airport on arrival.

Then slap the  wrist bands on, anybody objects, lock em up, dont take s##t from anyone.

Keep your eyes open, make sure they stick to what they have been told, make sure they are kept under close observation at all times, only take your eyes off them when they go to the loo.

Hello foreign tourists welcome, we hope you enjoy your stay.????????????????????

That's a great idea. Get the tourists up at the crack of dawn for a bit of square bashing.

Attention! About turn! Left, Right, Left, Right .....

And for the safety of the tourists as protection against Myanmar muggers they will be asked to hand over their valuables to the RTP for safe keeping ????????

On a more practical note, is there any more clarity on the mask wearing requirements?  In particular, while walking/lying on he beach?  Riding a motorbike?

No they seem to make the rules as they see fit.

Why would fully vaccinated tourists be eager going to a country that isn’t?

Sorry, "Clarity"? What is this "Clarity" you talk about?

I don't know if I am missing something, but isn't it a bit late in the day to be making further changes to the sandpit? These chaotic last minute changes don't give the impression that this is well thought through? And if I were a tourist thinking about wasting my vacation on Phuket, I would be worried that the sandpit rules could be changed arbitrarily by clowns , at any time, and in a costly way. What a joke.

I got worn out just reading all the rules, imagine having to go through all the hoops and for what?

War and peace is a shorter read than the full list of rules and requirements tourist's will need to do. welcome and enjoy your island hostage colony as long as you like.????

another soon to be revealed rule is that on their first morning there, the tourists will get to bond with each other by taking a walk on the beach, 1 meter apart, and collect all the trash that is on the beach, thus combining healthy aerobic activity and community (slave labor)service.

Correct me if I am wrong, but reading these rules, all foreign visitors must first go to Phuket for 14 days, after which, if they are clear of infection may travel other places in Thailand?  There does not seem to be any provision in this order for others who wish to travel directly to Koh Samui, Koh Phangan, or Koh Tao having transited from places such as Hong Kong, Singapore or other such staging Countries?  Maybe it is because this is an order that is directed to Phuket and a new order will be published (hopefully before 15 July!)specifically for the three Islands?  Hugs and kisses to all from Mr Very Confused on Samui!

I wondered where you were going with that for a second.

As soon as the first ’sandboxer’ tests positive for Covid-19 on the arrival test I’m expecting this to turn into either full on ASQ (can’t leave room) for the first 7 days until the result of the day 6 test or for it to turn into a fully fledged ASQ.....

There is still plenty of time to completely destroy an option which is only marginally better than the current ASQ.

As every option and post indicates: I can’t see any tourists coming under these conditions, none at all.

This cr@ppy Sandbox option will only appeal to those who have been vaccinated and wish to return to family in Thailand, or their home in Thailand after being away at work etc.....  it will simply become a replacement for ASQ for some.

There seems to be more than adequate testing of Foreign Tourists in the Sandbox.

However, there has been very little mention of testing for all the Thai Tourists and residents.

If there is going to be any Covid on the Island ( and there will be for sure ) it will be transmitted by non vaccinated Thais.

Will the Island go into lock down under these conditions, or will Tourists still be able to " enjoy " their vacation free of restrictions.

At least the Foreign Tourists will be there to carry the blame

will be interesting to see how this all plays out...its a <deleted> joke

Sure, make fun.

You purposely avoided mentioning that the tracking packs were available in gaudy Hawaiian print patterns and the antennae doubled as fishing poles.

Bring your own sand.

Note that taking sand from the local beach is strictly prohibited and is punished by fines/jail/deportation.

Why would even people with lots of money want to be put through this BS. Why cant Thailand wait until they have Covid  19 under control? Like the USA. This will not end well

Got my popcorn ready! This dog and pony show will be a wonder to watch! Screw Netflix!

I was ready to go and dodge the ASQ in Bangkok, I’ve done ASQ 2 times now.

But this is going which way almost every day now, clearly not ready.
